101LEDs 100 Posted October 30, 2014 I know one thing was not set right when I printed it, the high speed was on. What other adjustments need to be tweaked for best results? Epson 7510/CISS/Cobra Ink The botton pic is how it came out and was washed once, looked the same before washing.
OWJones 1,981 Posted October 30, 2014 Are you using the right color profile for JPSS? Your colors look a little off, and the print density is pale, which may be due to the high speed printing being turned on. For Epson printers with Cobra Ink, you should be using the JPSS color profile* and have the printer set for Plain Paper and Max Quality. *Should be called something like WF7010_JPSS_Plain Paper_Max Quality_CP650 ink
101LEDs 100 Posted October 30, 2014 I have the all of the 7010 profiles from Cobra on the pc, how do I check which is being used?
101LEDs 100 Posted October 31, 2014 I figured it out, you have to print from PS or similar.
OWJones 1,981 Posted October 31, 2014 You have to print from an application with a Print dialog box that gives you color control options and lets you pick a profile. I use CorelDraw and Corel PhotoPaint and both have those types of Print dialogs. I think there is a way to set the profile from the printer preferences in Windows control panel, but I'm not at my PC to try it out. Just make sure that if you do change your defaults that you change it back after you're done.

bvglee 0 Posted November 4, 2014 Besides the color profile issue, there are other factors to consider. Is that Dye-Sub or regular inkjet transfer?, and the substrate is 100% poly, 100% cotton? if poly-cotton blend, what percentage? that's very important to know what to expect in Dye Sublimation, in short the higher the polyester percentage, more vivid images, stardard inkjet transfer are more like homemade craft even if the print is flawless will fade with time. Anyway here is the Cobra Ink Tutorial on ICC profile setup for the WF7510: https://cobraink.com/Color%20Control/PVideos/WF7010/7010PV.html
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted November 4, 2014 Bvglee I turn out hundreds of ink jets transfers a month and have seen them after a year or 2 still looking decent with minimal fading. The key is don't use crappy store bought transfers.
101LEDs 100 Posted November 4, 2014 That test piece was printed with no color profile or color adjustment at all. The picture wasn't the best resolution either. It was on JPSS with Cobra pigment ink. All taken care of now and printing great.
