Banner Help

Is there a trick to applying vinyl to the banner material? 651 vinyl right?

I wipped it down and everything, it would not stick even a little.

 

........Pause...........

 

So I went back in my house ( I work out of my garage ) all frustrated. I came back about an hour later and it stuck!!!

 

 

 

What gives?

 

 

What backing tape do you guys use? anything special?

You wiped it with rubbing alcohol? I have never had an issue with adhesion on banner material. Are you using paper app tape?

No paper app tape. The clear stuff. Stuff I've always used. Would the HT55 work better??

How long after you wiped the banner were you trying to apply the vinyl? It may not have been all the way dry. I rarely ever use the clear app tape but that shouldn't make the vinyl not stick.

I wipped it down...then cut out the vinyl....weeded it....so...20 minutes?

Banners have two sides, front and back, are you sure you used the front (shiny, slick side)?

Not all banner is shiny on 1 side. I use matte on occasion and it's dull both sides but i side is smoother and that is the side you apply to. I stopped cleaning with anything but alcohol because of the occasional adhesion problem but like yours it stuck after sitting a few minutes.
