LFleshman 3 Posted April 5, 2014 I have been working with my vinyl cutter for about a month now. About a week ago the arm that holds the blade cartridge into place broke in half, so I ordered a new one. I double checked that this was the correct part and that the arm shown in the picture was the exact same. I received the new arm today, and it is not the same! Anyone had any issues with this happening to them? After it broke on me I realized that I had my blade way too low. Any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful! Go-C Graphics 856 Posted April 5, 2014 There are 2 different arms for the MH. The Old style has 2 places to put a holder. One in front of the other. The newer style arm only has one. You have to make sure you order the correct style based on your cutter.
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted April 5, 2014 and when you get the carriage arm fixed, this is how to set your blade depth To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing.
