firemalt 10 Posted March 20, 2008 Can someone tell me the different between permanent acrylic adhesive & permanent solvent adhesive? And what the advantages and disadvantages are of each once? Thanks!
firemalt 10 Posted March 20, 2008 Just to clarify... I'm referring to the adhesive backing on Oracal 641 and Oracal 651.
kenimes 42 Posted March 20, 2008 651 is a softer, more flexible film so you get more conformity. From what I understand directly from Oracal, the solvent based adhesive has a longer life and is more stretchable....if that is even a word. The acrylic adhesive is water based and therefore, has less life expectancy. The guy spoke real fast, so I may have missed some other key parts, but I also emailed them and will post anything else I left out.
firemalt 10 Posted March 21, 2008 Thanks for the reply... so the solvent adhesive wouldn't stick after getting damp/water, correct? I don't plan on using 641... this is strictly informational stuff.
