icecolddealz 0 Posted August 16, 2011 I am a noob and have been reading everything I can. I am extremely tech savvy. After 4 hours of fighting the USB driver on a win7 machine I was able to get the MH to communicate. So I took (borrowed) a cool EPS that someone made on here just to do a test cut. Within seconds I had a huge, nasty mess. My blade is at the correct depth I thought, but I was tearing the vinyl right up. It wasnt plotting it was slicing. What could I have done wrong? Or not done at all? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Also thanks.
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted August 16, 2011 If your cutting thru the vinyl backing the blade is out too far or to much force. If you haven't read the newbie manual, start there. Download in first post
Turn2Designs 9 Posted August 16, 2011 First, the blade shouldn't be sticking out of the holder too much, you should honestly barely be able to see the tip coming out of the holder. Secondly lower your downforce pressure, mine runs around 60 grams for Oracal 651.. also search on this forum for how to set the blade. i have seen it just dont remember where. Hope this helps

mb20music 760 Posted August 16, 2011 The blade is probably out too far. You should be able to barely feel it/see it when the depth is adjusted properly.

mabscotthandyman 1,410 Posted August 16, 2011 And after every setup you should do the test cut from the menu before cutting any thing else that way you can check to see if your deep enough,or too deep and the cut shuld lift out easily. Like was said read the newbie manual. Dan
