vteg 0 Posted January 17, 2008 ive been trying to cut 2 layered fonts with my copam plotter and the bottom layer cuts perfect but when it come to the top layer certain letters like "b, o, a" arent cut properly the center of these letters are not cut out
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted January 17, 2008 post the file you are trying to cut. I have an idea but I won't say anything til I see the file.
UpNorthPromo 3 Posted January 17, 2008 It sounds like the letters probably are filled with another color like white instead of the font color. I do not use sign blazer but that would be my guess.

Jerry Bonham 1 Posted January 18, 2008 If you post the SignBlazer file i can tell what the problem is immediately. SignBlazer supports transparent objects as well as white. So UPNothPromo is likely to be correct. Some imported EPS files have the centre of text has separate objects and either transparent or white. So select the offending text along with the centers and press C on the keyboard. This combines them into one object and you will have no problem cutting them. Jay2703 704 Posted January 18, 2008 UpNorth is correct. If you select one of your O's then use the down arrow key to move it you can see that the center is actually a black shape rather than a cutout. See the attached image.
vteg 0 Posted January 18, 2008 ooooooohhh i see so what can i do to fix this can i weld them together ?
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted January 18, 2008 Hello Vteg, Here is how i fixed your problem. 1. Deleted the white rectangle. (used Color Select, RHM click on the bottom color bar) 1. Selected all the text including the black behind it and then pressed P on the key board. This punches top objects through the lower ones. 2. Then i cut to the clipboard the red, green and blue text. 3. Then selected the black underneath and split it. 4. deleted the grey 5 pasted back the text. 6 lastly deleted the white rectangle Ready to cut.
