prototype66 20 Posted February 2, 2011 I have an Ultra GRC76s, new 45 and 60 blades, offset on .025 (i read most people recommend .25 but mine goes by .0xx up to .060) down force ok....just enough too leave an impression in the backing slightly and speed set to 40-45 ips. cutting Universal Products 2 ml Auburn Metallic film. or 3M controltac film both As it cuts (smaller letters up to 1/2 to 3/4 an inch) it lifts the vinyl up as it cuts...and catches some on the blade sometimes too. I have played with different down force settings and offset but cant get it right. Any idea what I am doing wrong??? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

prototype66 20 Posted February 2, 2011 Ill get some 3-1 oil on the way home tonight I hadn't thought of that. As far as the blade ...it is about 1 to 2 mm out now so I was worried about the holder catching the lifted vinyl. Ill back it off some more. prototype66 20 Posted February 2, 2011 **update** Backed off blade and oiled carrage....check TURNED TANGIBLE OFF!.....check set to fine cut.....check speed set to 25ips( now its actually going that fast!) ....check offset to .015.....check 3M controltac sucks.....double check other vinyl cut great but I think the blade is still too far out. so far so good on trial and error!
