more trim problems

hi Guys

this is driving me nuts i hope some kind soul can help.

this is what I am doing in x4

1. typing out some text

2. making a box and applying a fill colour

3. place the text inside the box and make it top layer

4. apply a 5mm outline to the text.

5. select source as the text and target as the box using Shift key

6. goto arrange/shaping/trim to trim the text outline from the box shape.

what i want is to trim the larger outline i made around the text but all it will trim is the text itself.

who knows where i am going wrong ?

Convert outline to an object, then cut.
