Questions about a Graphtec CE5000-60

Recommended Posts

I've got a deal to buy this unit for $200 but it is showing this error messages

"Y-Axis error  Realign rollers error"

So the big question is it worth the money or will have most of a new one paid for by the time I fix it?

I have no idea what parts or service cost for one of these

Thanks for any advice you have

Realigning rollers doesnt seem like its that complex of a repair, as to replacing motherboards/motors. Might come out to less than a new unit considering the 200+repairs.

No clue who would do the repairs though lol

I will buy it for 300

That means rollers are not in correct place

Make sure there in the blue marks above the rollers the graphtec rollers can't be placed any where it's kinda picky

Ok here is the scoop....

Got it home and it had the realign rollers error...

So I moved the roller down to the next blue strip and it acted fine so I took the covers off and cleaned the eyes on the carriage and did some testing it seems to be fine

On start up it says press enter when I do it runs out to the first roller stops then goes to the second roller stops then returns back to the right rolls the vinyl a bit and stops

I know nothing about this cutter is this how it should act?

The guy had no manuals for it he said it was about 4yrs old

BTW... when I push test it cuts a square with a triangle in the middle

Thanks for any info you can pass on!!

just go to the Graphtec website and download a user manual.  Test cuts are done with a square and triangle.

Sounds like it's working correctly to me.

Good luck.

The Graphtec is only going to cut in between the rollers. When you hit enter, the carriage moves over and back to measure the distance in between them. GOOD deal, enjoy it.

Well got the drivers and stuff installed... After making a few adjustments I sent a few projects to the cutter and it cut everything just like it should. Boy does it cut small compaired to my 721.
