Using the Cutstudio Plug-In with Illustrator

Hey, complete newbie to this: just got a little Roland SV-8 to start a small business customizing shirts and am having issues getting it set up.

I'm working with a Mac (OS 10.5., and Illustrator CS3 with the Cutstudio plug-in.

One: I'm fairly familiar with Illustrator. I got the plug-in installed, but I'm not sure what the icons for the plug-in are, and I can find no documentation for how to use the plug-in.

Two: I tried sending a design to the cutter, just to see if I could do it (or that's what I thought I was doing anyway) but there's no response from the cutter. From what I've read it seems like I shouldn't need to download a driver, but my mac and new plotter just are not getting along.

If you know of any good resources, or can point out something I've missed, any help would be much appreciated!

Look and see if you click file in Illy that it says send to Cutstudio.

I don't see anything in the "file" menu that says "send to cutstudio"

I think I get the gist of the cutstudio plug-in; but when I click on the "send to cutter" icon.... nothing happens.

have you gone to the Roland site  and read their tech support.

Not familiar with Mac, but I'm using a PC and if you have the plug in it should show up under the "Window" menu at the top as my first picture shows.

Then once you bring it up it will look like my second picture.

Should be fairly easy to figure out from there.

Ive had no luck with the cutstudio plugin either so I just manually import everything into cut studio.
