Can I do this?? Question from an amateur!

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

So I have never made a shirt before and I would like to give it a try, but I have a few questions!

I have a few blank shirts that i would like to put a small pocket size logo on for my company. My first question is... what vinyl do i want to use on a tee shirt? can i use my oracal 651?

My other question regards heat pressing. I do not own a heat press machine, so can i use an iron to apply the decal? Are there any other ways to applyh the vinyl with out heat pressing?

Finally, if i decide that i want to do a large logo on the back of the shirt can i use an iron, or am i crazy?

Just so you all know, I own a landscaping company and bought a vinyl cutter so i could do all my trucks and equipment, that is why i have these odd questions!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys

Nogo

You'll need to use heat press vinyl for shirts. I use Siser Easyweed, but I don't think you can get it to work with a hand iron. Most of the vinyl require a heatpress, but I think some members of the forum had luck with other brands using a hand iron... try doing a search on the forum...

I agree with the others,  a option could be using JPSS paper and then using it on light shirts only, meaning white, ash etc.  I have heard that you can use these with a iron do a search and see if you can find some info on this maybe a video?

I could make you what you need printed on some Jpss pretty cheap if it was for you and you didnt need a whole lot.....
