Can I add a laser?

Can you add a laser to an mh871? I need a way to check my alignments before I cut my designs.

I saw in one of your posts that you have a pen holder.  You can check the alignment easily by selecting only the registration marks and making the cutter "plot" these marks at the corners of your design on the piece you are trying to align.  If the pen hits the reg marks perfectly you are good to go - if it missed you can adjust and try again until you get it zeroed in.

Place the pen and set laser point offset to zero.

Move the pen to the regmarks and set the correct reg amrk spots in your cut program.

When all regmarks are done replace the pen with the knife and perform the contour cut.

It works but it is a hassle to constantly change pen and knife holder.

Also the point of the pen to align on the regmarks crossing is not that accurate.

You can add a laser pointer if you have technical skills.

if you are into cutting you might consider a laserpoint machine anyway.
