emailing jpeg from Flexi

Recommended Posts

Guest kenya

I've created a layout using Flexi & need to email it to the customer for approval.

I would like to know how can I get the layout to not look like the text goes all the way from edge to edge.

I would like alittle space around the edge, but it looks like it goes all the way to the edge.

Hope I'm making my question clear.

You can export layout as jpg, tga, psd, bmp, tif or png. and then email it. Depending on the format you use the export can take a few seconds.

In my Flexi- I click File, Send Email, as jpeg. It does it automatically.

But when I look at the email it looks edge to edge.

Is the work area bigger than the design? Also when I change the work area to say black back ground it never transfer over to the jpeg but I export, so I make a square/rectangle send it to back layer then save as jpeg.

might help

Yes, it's bigger than the design.

I'm laying out a set of magnetic signs. It's 12" x 24".

But the jpeg shows it right up to the edge.

Yep, what Joe said. Or after export take it to photo editing prog and put a wide border around it matching your background color. Whichever is easiest for you. I usually take screenshot and open in Photoshop and crop it and resize and email it.

When using SB, I always took a screenshot & opened it in paint & did the same.

Since I'm using Flexi, I thought maybe there would be something with less steps.

Thanks.... I'm going to try Joe's suggestion.

You can always put a border around it. I sometimes make a square with inner border checked and then adjust the border thickness. make it the same size as your designing area.

The way I made this work was to draw a tiny white box in the top right and bottom left corners, right against the edge of the workspace.

Since the background is white they don't show in the picture but they do make it show the entire space.

I just export them in PDF file format, and then email it, most computers have a PDF reader

I have a standard border that has my information at the bottom.  I import that and make it contain the drawing.  I have a portrait and landscape version.  Then it looks professional when you send it.  It is also scaled to a sheet of paper so when they print it will look right.

Thanks.

I've been learning about Job info & how to present it (email or hard copy) to a customer, thanks for showing me.
