Black Friday - Who all is going?

Recommended Posts

Well who all is making the trip out for Black Friday? I'm heading to best buy to get my hands on another tv for our bedroom so i can finally move the 47" into our 2nd living room. We already have a 52" LG in our first living room, but you can never have to many! Gotta pick up a few extra goodies too the wife doesn't know about yet lol.

I'm in good though, her new cell phone will be here Saturday

question is..how many living rooms do you need?

I'm not going til after the crowds go away. Last year, I went to Target at 11..they still had plenty of what I went for. LIfe is too short for me to get up before dawn, fight a crowd of greedy bastards who would knock you down and step on you to save a few dollars. I don't need a thing that would be worth that.

Well we have 2 living rooms, one is open when you walk into the house and the other is on the side of the house in the back, i'm going to use it for movies, games, and watching tv mostly. Since it gets the least amount of light. I'm an electronics junky so it's fun.

I have never went out like this on the night or day after christmas but the wife gave me the okay and that's all i needed. Here at our Walmart they leave it open and don't close it and form lines, they bring in all the stock on palettes and at 5 they give out tickets to people who want to buy the bigger items and first come first serve for the smaller.

around here, we would call the second one  a den or family room. The living room is where you take company...and fill with uncomfortable furniture so they won't stay long. If you really like them, you take them to the family room.

Myself, I have always had the TV in my bedroom. Saves time since most shows put me to sleep anyway.

Well I should change my use of living room then lol. I always just called it that for some reason. When you walk in our home you have a family room, it's nice furniture but it's comfy and def just sit around and watch tv there. Our other room will be more like a den. Where we can watch the big game or movies and such. Never really needed a formal living room, i'm only 25 and my wife is 28. No need yet.

The girlfriend and I are getting up at 2:30 to go stand in line at Walmart so that hopefully I can pick up that $248 Emerson 32". If I somehow miss that one, I'm going down the street to Target for the $246 Westinghouse, and if both fail I'm going to Best Buy for the $300 Dynex.

Goal is to come home with a 32" TV for under $300. Haha. Also gonna pick up an office chair and a few other goodies I'm sure.

Should be a good experience that will probably keep me from getting up at 2:30 in the many more Black Fridays to come.

I'm going to Five's "store" to pick up his new printer on a kick-ass deal!!  (I know, Five, I promised I wouldn't tell everyone you're giving it to me for an absolute steal, but I'm so excited I can't contain myself..." ;D

Then I'll come home and buy a new dishwasher because ours sucks and has managed to chip an entire set of service for 12 dishes and bowls in the past year.  Now since we need new dishes because the others are chipped, I'll also be buying new dishes.

Then.... I have to find some sort of sofa/seating for den #2 (which is not to be confused with the living room or Den #1).  Listen, when you have 6 teenagers, you NEED lots of common space so everyone has privacy without going to their rooms (teenagers don't belong locked in bedrooms with guests...)

And if I have time left, I'll be going to Friendly's because I deserve a Reese's sundae.

I'm staying home with the grandkids.  My wife and daughter is going to work at the bookstore.  I'll bet we will have more fun.  On Saturday and Sunday I have a new part time gig at the mall.  Can you say Ho..Ho..Ho?  I will attach a picture when I get one.  It's the first time I ever got hired on my looks alone.  Usually I don't get hired because of my looks.

Erik happens to be off duty tonight - but when he's worked Thanksgiving, he gets more calls to stores where people line up starting well before midnight.  It gets crazy at Best Buy and Kohls!

Not me........... I went one year, it was terrible. All that pushing & shoving.

I'll pay regular price for name brand items. All that was on sale was cheap stuff, which I found out

later from a friend that worked at Walmart, most of the items didn't work & were returned after Christmas.  :(

:);D ;D You didn't show up.  I opened the doors at 5:00 AM it was a madhouse in there.  Everyone wanted the printer but I told them it was sold, finally a guy offered me a deal I couldn't refuse so I let it go to him.  ;D ;D ;D

I'm soooooooo sleeeeepppyyyy lol. I took a nap till about 1 am, had some friends call me to tell me there were lines already, thats when I decided, NOT WORTH IT! My wife calls me this morning and was like, hey Kelly my friend is at Walmart and they still have a bunch of stuff. So 8 am I was at Walmart, TV's were still there, Blurays were. It didn't look like anything had been bought. Employees at Walmart said they sold a ton they just had so much in stock this year. I just think the economy is finally realizing they need to save their money.

Ended up buying a Sony 46" tv instead of the 32" and bought 10 blurays! I got them for $10 a piece. And def not old ones either. Fast & Furious, Transformers, Angels and Demons, Casino Royal, and of course when i seen Wedding Crashers, and Goodfellas I had to get those! lol

I ended up fighting through some old women to get some things for the wife. All in all, in there for about 90 minutes and out. Not too bad.

I just got back a little while ago. Got the Emerson 32". Got in line at 3:30am. I was number 45 in the tv line and they had 94 tvs. It was nice, all the lines were inside and well organized. Checkouts were a bitch though, stood in the checkout line for another hour and a half. Also picked up an office chair, a $5 football, and a Nikon camera.

All in all, pretty good morning and went better than expected.

This is the main reason I don't go. I can't go that long without going to the bathroom. It's an 'old guy' thing.

But I am happy that you both got what you wanted.

I'll never go now that I see I can get everything I want at a reasonable time. They didn't have any Roland Versacamms on sale. I was kinda bummed lol

I did my shopping online yesterday at newegg. Bought the 1100 workhorse for $149.99 and free shipping. As cheap as I could find, THIS WEEK. LOL
