I'm an idiot

Recommended Posts

It has taken me 3 days to figure out this new machine (MH721) and I am getting there.  This is my first experience with a cutter and I have never even seen one before I got this one.  I haven't actually put a blade in it yet - just been using the pen on paper.  Here's were the idiot came in.  I forgot to clamp down the pinch rollers (I bet I don't do that again) and the paper went crazy and the pen wrote all over that little foam-like strip underneath it.  Is this going to cause any type of problem?  Is there any way to clean it off?  I just hate scuffing up my new toy.  I guess I should have figured this out ahead of time but....... what is the best way to stop the cutter in case something like this happens again.  I panicked and just hit the power button - I don't know if that was the best thing to do.

Power works, or reset.

As for cleaning the soft cut strip I wouldn't worry about it, I doubt it'll do anything to your future drawings and it won't do a thing to vinyl.

Lots of those machines have marked up strips.

Just don't let the knife scar the hard cut strip.

There is a post in a thread here that gives many cost saving ideas . The 1 I liked was repairing the cut strip . It said to use reflective vinyl over the existing cut strip .

That may work for you but we can't say that as a blanket statement.

Every machine is a little different.  Especially between models!

I'm glad you're able to make it work for you.

Have a good day!

I found the fastest way to stop my PCut is to push one of the red buttons on either end of the machine.

Hey Suzy, your not alone in forgetting to put the pinch rollers down! I have done that a time or two and ruined vinyl. I have also forgot to to mirror my image when doing tshirt vinyl a few times! Mistakes will happen!
