Doing first shirt, any advice?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm going to attempt to do an event shirt in vinyl so I'm wondering if there are any newbie rules or advice I need. I usually do opaque transfers with lots of colors so I know I have to do the design in one color. The usual ingredients for these shirts is a ball graphic, the name of the tour, name of the location of the tournament and then VolleyChick in large letters, under that small vc.com - is that too much? Should I put it all in an oval or square border? How small is too small for text? Thanks!!!

Check that mirror is checked,,, Then...............

Check that Mirror is checked, and when your done with that,

make sure mirror is checked.

And lastly, when your done doing shorts, and moving on to a decal..........

Make sure Mirror is UNchecked!!!!!!

Got it...MIRROR...now to see if I remember when the time comes.

You won't remember, well not every time.  You will forget.  That's almost a given.

Here is a good tip: Use the knife, it cuts better than the pen does.

It is truly remarkable how many times you can forget to mirror on the first cut - seems like common sense but Like FM said it will happen - then it will happen again

oh yeh - spell check - verry first shirt I did got type happy and made one that was for a vollyball player - somehow didn't notice the dropped "e" . . .free redo!

its bad enough wasting material... but when you forget to mirror, cut, week and apply, it is very aggravating... I hate making those types of shirts at 4 in the morning with no sleep...

You wake up the next morning and check your shirt and think WTF? its backwards......
