odokie 8 Posted September 28, 2007 I am back with a new "I dont know what I'm doing issue" I downloaded a Clip Art CD program and put it in "my Documents" When I go to signblazer and go the the import option, I click on the c:/ find the my documents file open it and click on the Clip Art file it seem to open but appears to be empty. there is nothing there, but I have checked and the images are there. Should I have this in a different location? What am I not doing??thanks
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted September 28, 2007 What format are the files in? Attach an example here and I'll have a look to see what the problem could be.
odokie 8 Posted September 28, 2007 When I uploaded it this is what it read Pumpkin 034.wmf. You cannot upload that type of file. The only allowed extensions are doc, gif, jpg, mpg, pdf, png, txt, zip,ai,eps, svg. how do I change the file?? thanks!!
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted September 28, 2007 I use .wmf files in Signblazer all the time. But I do NOT use the import feature. Here is how I do it: Open the clipart image that you want (in the clipart program) right click (or edit) and COPY it. Go to signblazer...click on Edit, then CLIPBOARD PASTE. It will paste the image into signblazer but it will probably be HUGE so adjust the size accordingly. If the files are in colour, you will be able to cut each separately. To cut all at once, click on each one while holding down the ctrl key. Or maybe the alt key I can't remember.
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted September 29, 2007 To upload the file to here, the best thing to do is to zip it up first. Hopefully you are able to do this. You may need something like WinZip.
odokie 8 Posted September 29, 2007 John, i tried the copy / clipboard paste and nothing came up on SB. I tried edit / clipboard paste and it opended in my "paint" file. Im not doing something right... Burce, Do you have a few more details on your suggestion? Thanks guys!!
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted September 29, 2007 If you can't upload it here, it may be easier to email it to me at regist@blazertech.net

Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted September 29, 2007 There is a bug in SignBlazer that is stopping the "WMF" files from being shown in the import dialog. It wont take long to get fixed but it wont be until Monday.
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 2, 2007 Here is a new update that fixes the problem with importing wmf files. http://www.signblazer.net/signblazer/updates/uscutter/setup_021007.exe
Popeye 0 Posted October 2, 2007 Bruce, Is this patch for Pro as well?
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 2, 2007 No the patch is just for SignBlazer Elements for USCutter. The Pro version should already be able to import wmf without a problem.
odokie 8 Posted October 20, 2007 Bruce, Sorry I never got back after downloading the file to fix my problem. All is working fine, I have been cutting like mad, and have not been on here for help. thanks again!!! ;) ;D
Popeye 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Bruce, I upgraded from elements to Pro a while back. In elements I could import a dxf file without a problem. Today is the first time I tried importing a dxf file in Pro... it imports a black box, if you manage to clear the box there are a lot of other blacked out areas. I had zero success importing the dxf. Here's a sample file Co-Pilot-rev-03.zip Co-Pilot-rev-03.zip
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I think there is something wrong with the file. SignBlazer wont import it and either will CorelDraw or Illustrator.
Popeye 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Bruce, Ok, lets says it's a bad file. I doubt that all the dxf files would be bad don't you? That file opens and functions fine in the CAD program, if it was corrupt I wouldn't be able to reopen it. I have 3 options when saving a dxf 1) AutoCad 2004/2005 2) AutoCad 2000 3) AutoCad R14 Which one would you suggest I use? Thanks for the help
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 24, 2007 I would suggest you try AutoCad R14 and if there is an option, don't chose a binary format.
Popeye 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Bruce, R14 attached, I get the same results. The preview shows a black box, SB shows a black box when imported. If you click off the box and then click back on and delete it shows "part" of the drawing. TT-Co-Pilot-rev-03.zip TT-Co-Pilot-rev-03.zip
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Try pressing "Control-F" to show in wire frame. It may all be there just not visible because everything is shown in black and the black rectangle obscures everything else.
Popeye 0 Posted October 24, 2007 Tried it, It's not all there. Also the scale is totally off.
Bruce SignBlazer Support 0 Posted October 26, 2007 I can load this one into CorelDraw so I can see what is missing. I'm not sure how long it will take to fix this.
Popeye 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Bruce, It would be nice to have that feature since it's a feature I appreciate you taking the time to correct it. Thanks
Popeye 0 Posted December 14, 2007 Any luck fixing the dxf import?
