I just gave wal-mart 598 plus tax for a acer laptop ..hope this helps..

This one was $360 w/taxes and shipping from Walmart online. They have a 8.9 version with the same specs for less but they were out of stock on that model with the 6 cell battery. My daughter has the 8.9 with the 3 cell battery and it lasts about 2 hours. This one runs about 6 hours on a charge.

office depot had 2 models of a netbook,don't recall the brands...both in the $300 range,the last time I was there.

Same as Schramm! She tells me the screen is too small to and she has to scroll too much. Cant win for losing...lol.

I bought a new Dell desktop in 07' and have only turned it on about 10 times.

Just bought another laptop (Dell) in March. The Toshiba started to feel warm.

Gee wiz! I had the same problem with my HP, was getting hot and actually cutting off! I bought the Dell Studio, plenty of ram and a huge hard drive. So far so good.

I have two desk tops one at home that no one uses. its function is for the router to use it so we all can use the wireless on our laptops and my other desk top is at the shop hooked up to my cutter.
