HrdCorHillbilly 0 Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks! I just put the dogs picture(top left pic) into Inkskape. Then traced it out, so it looked like.... Then I put it into Signblazer to finish it up. I didn't use any filters or anything.
teddybear30 0 Posted February 21, 2009 I'm new to this, but I was totally amazed! You did a GREAT job!. I'm going to try that for my pugs. If you don't mind my asking, was that for yourself or for a customer? and how do you price something like that? Thanks
HrdCorHillbilly 0 Posted February 21, 2009 Thanks a lot teddy. This decal was for my mother in law, so it was a freebie. I spent four or five hours on it. I'm not sure what I would charge someone. I guess it just depends on how long it takes you to design it. I could have taken less time to design it, but I wanted it to look really good. It was my first dog. I'm sure the next one won't take as long. The picture wasn't the best to work with. With a better picture, I could probably get it done within three hours. I would probably charge $30 for the first decal, and regular price if they wanted more. You can only charge whatever your customers are willing to pay. buddy 7 Posted February 22, 2009 HCH - Looks great! I gotta try that myself! How did you do any cleanup in SB if you dont mind me asking Dazzel
HrdCorHillbilly 0 Posted February 23, 2009 Anything looks better with reflective vinyl. hahaa I'm just getting started. I haven't purchased any reflective. It is hard to clean stuff up in Signblazer. Node Edit was the only tool I used on this one. I just moved each node around to where I wanted it. Erased a ton of nodes that I didn't want. It's also nice to have an extra person look at your work, while your making it. They can always offer valueable information, or notice some things you may have missed. acehole 1 Posted February 23, 2009 The node editing can be very time consuming I dont understand why there are so many nodes you dont actually need
HrdCorHillbilly 0 Posted February 23, 2009 Look at the third image I posted. It was just an outlined image. In Signblazer it showed up as a thick line (two cutlines). In order to fill in the black on the design I had to delete parts of that thick line. To make it a simple one cut line. ...hope that makes sense.
