  1. already dn loaded the manual. haven't dn loaded any software since i figured it would b similar to setting up 1 of the others and use the cutting software i now use.   looked up all I could online , even had a lil help.  found this thread from the google search. since he has 1 ,  just would like to talk to him now since his last post on this is 2 yrs old. anything break/tear up?  any issue where he needed the co that told  him they would always offer support? stuff like that. thought some of that would b nice to kno. and im 1 of those that no matter how much i learn doing anything, i never think of myself as an expert. to me u can always learn something new.

  2. just checked since no response and looks like its been awhile since  @PixelPusher has logged on  maybe tagging u will get u on here. lol   Wanna chat a lil bit about getting this cutter up and running after i get it. going b a lil while because of this hurricane were dealing with right now. but your post, especially the 1 about the co. def has my interest sparked more in this cutter. I have 2 stepper motor cutters now and wanting to pik up a servo cutter. im relying on the vinyl to pay for all the upgrades. that's y im staying with used for the time being. plus sooner or later my plan is setting up an enclosed trailer to take to events to do both vinyl and shirts. this 1 is bigger than I what I really want. mainly was looking for something in the 28-30" range for my space up ft at the shop. but from the info u posted i will put this 1 somewhere. lol.

  3. im digging up an old thread. but I just ran across 1 of these. not sure what yr it would be. he says  its an ioline I/S 130 smartrac   so you say this is an old 1 worth picking up. going to check it out then.

I have an older dell laptop Vostro with windows xp and has atleast 1serial port. havent looked at it n a long time is y I say that.  but u said could use windows 10, so I guess I could get a keyspan

  4. maybe she finally got things handled with customer serv.

hmmm, will have to look when im back at the shop . but seems my sc cutter & stand came n 1 box. I let myself get hooked with 1 of those starter kits, so I had boxes and boxes when it finally got here.  vinyl, tools, app tape roller, and whatever else came with it. all those were threw out. but the cutter box is up n the storage.  but some reason I rem taking it all out of 1. maybe that's y mine came n not working or whatever u wanna call it. needed a new carriage. maybe too many pieces to bounce around n shipping.

  5. so I log on tonight and see we have a new member @Support@USCutter    just read a few of the post, did see where it looks like it wont be the same rep posting as this user.

I do believe it is something the forum could use more of, someone from US cutter trying to help with issues that is co. issues more than what a lot of us use this forum for as far as all pitching in to help each other out with issues. there is always issues that can only be handled by someone at US Cutter. the bad is im sure this co. is no different than any other, like issues with employee turn over, miss or non communication, and similar stuff that ends up with customers being the 1 that ends up feeling their business or issue wasn't important to the co. and a lot of times because of the issues I just stated is why the right person with the co. never knew of the customers issue.

Ive def had a few since finding this co. and joining the forum and also becoming a customer of US cutter. and also im 1 of those that feel my issues were never addressed , may never made it to the right desk/comp.   I found US Cutter both from google search and amazon. as I have stated in posts on here a few times, I wished I had found the forum 1st and let the wisdom of these veterans point me in the right direction. but unfortunately I basically did it blind, and not being a comp/ tech guy isn't  a good thing . lol. But I did call in to the sales dept. before I made my  order, I was talked out of the cutter I originally thought would be my best choice for a novice/beginner. I was going to buy the largest LP2 , after describing my plans for a cutter  and my comp knowledge I was told I should start with an MH. the bottom, so if I decided this wasn't for me after I did our store sign I wasn't out much. and if it turns out this was something I would want to keep doing and grow with, again only lil $ was out when I decide to upgrade as most do and push the beginner cutter in the corner or post on CL. Im not 1 to ever buy the bottom end of anything. so I found a starter bundle on amazon. Heres where my 1st issue started. as most say newbies do the biggest mistake, start taking orders as soon as they order a cutter or think about ordering 1. well mine was for the wifes biz. and we all know how that is   she wanted it yest. so I paid extra on amazon for early shipping. which did fall on the weekend. so theres that 1st strike. not only did it not show up on sat as paid for , it was actually the next tue, or wed if not mistaken. 2nd strike it came in broken. and I waited until that sat night to start putting the cutter together , that way it had my full attention. so my bad, didn't think about not going to have support until mon.  I have to lol over that 1. any way on mon got with a tech and a new carriage was sent out to fix it. next a lil while later I notice the usb port on the cutter  a lil loose, but not causing issues yet, so called support, was told not to worry, how much time was left of my orig. warranty and that  I could purchase an extended warranty as long as I did it before my warranty ran out. so time goes on, for whatever reason this usb port gets, ( my cutter/usb port is moved or  unhooked very lil, it stays in the same spot 98% . the usb cable from the cutter goes to a hub, so I connect and disconnect my lap top there. and the only time the cutter was getting moved was when I left to go back to nc. so it was out of the way of the counter in the store. so I call back in the last week or 2 before the orig. warranty expired. I talked to the tech about replacing the port and purchasing the extended warranty. 1st thing he tells me there wasn't any notes or whatever about this usb port from the 1st time I called, then he told me  he would have to check about selling me the extended warranty.so guess what #2 is, was never called back , and unfortunately for me it was our  busiest time of yr. so my responsibility of keeping this tech on his toes was forgotten until like a day 2 or 3 after my warranty expired. whoever took my call this time just basically told me I was out of luck on both, the replacement port and purchasing the warranty. I can def say they can tell the difference and my purchasing before and after this last incident. so basically my business experience started out rocky/bad and just stayed that way.to the point that I barely even get on the forum anymore. oops forgot , the very 1st thing I mentioned about paying xtra for shipping, that was told to every rep I spoke to, none ever responded with a comment about doing something for me to make up for being charged xtra for something  u clearly didn't get. we own a couple of businesses, cant say its everyday, but can def say every month we are doing whatever to try and make that customer with an issue able to leave happy. on another note, some how I do have a special knack for being able to have me and my issues fall thru the cracks to never never land. since trying to move all my medical to sc, that has been a nightmare of cracks. lol

so all that just to say, im glad to see someone on here now to hopefully keep what I just wrote a novel about dn to a min. Good Luck.

Edit for the oops, left out info. so basically all this over $50 part. and  miscommunication. I wished I had all the phone conv.  recorded. just like everything else in life. it was always someone elses fault. putting the blame on someone that wasn't there on the phone/ didn't work there anymore. just same ole lines I hear everywhere else. at this time I couldn't say which bothered me the most. paying xtra for shipping and getting it atleast 3 days late, the part I was promised or the miscommunication.. im sure I sound like a broken record. Maybe they grew faster than expected and cant handle the volume coming in. Dunno.

You have a Titan 3 now?

no, right now just my 54" SC and that GCC Expert 24 I traded for.  but a couple days before my surgery the almost perfect deal for me came up on CL the state below me. It was a 28" titan 3, the guy stated he ordered from USC the week before , did a couple cuts and decided it was too small for him . he wanted the 53" or 54" titan 3 . not sure which they make it in. everything was in the pics, so it looked all legit. and the deal of the da was he would take $650 shipped to me. surgery was in 2 days, my post op track record is terrible , so I felt I had no choice but to pass.

I might be picking up that Mimaki ive been talking/asking about for awhile next week.  end goal is to have a 24-30" cut servo cutter at the shop. the big sc at the house in what 1 of my friends is calling the "woodys graphics world headquarters' lol!!  Then last Im wanting to set up an enclosed trailer to go to events/car shows and just whatever.

back on topic.  im cutting flowers out of the library that came with scalps4 . the Gcc is at the shop . I do a cut and the center circle of the flower cuts as it should. come home where I have the surfboard sc 54" , just plug in , change over cutters in scalps, and no clean cut. the cuts in the circle don't meet.

  7. well I hate to say it, but it seems US Cutter has jumped all in with VM software, and it never fails when im using it, it crashes and has to shut dn. and we are talking simple stuff, im not good enough to do major stuff. lol. a lot of my stuff is just txt. ive never had that issue with scalps. another buddy is a big flexi user. he is trying his best to get me to switch over to flexi. it does seem flexi is set up now to work with about anything

  8. ended up trading for 1 recently. def a different beast compared to my us cutter sc model  hey but it is quieter. whats the good bad and ugly?  heres the deal. just had back surgery and moved the 54" sc to the house and have started setting up a vinyl world headquarters in a spare room, well that's what a buddy likes to call it. the goal was to not take this big boat anchor back to the shop anyway. so was wanting a servo 24" cutter to take its place. well long story short, the Graphtec I thought I made a deal on, his stepdaughter wanted it more, so im sure everyone knows who won that 1. been playing with this Gcc since I traded  hmmm...… I have it cutting, in my scalps program of course. don't think VM will run a cutter like this. and now the mimaki ive mentioned a few times has came dn in price also. atleast its a servo. neither cutter comes with a stand. im using the gcc using my  app tape roller to feed the vinyl  working cool for now. so now also looking for a deal on another app roller. lol

oops, about to forget this comment. im really wondering where they came up with the model name...… Expert

  9. actually prob have the perfect app tape for it. lol I think I  posted about it in some of my 1st post when I was listing my newbie mistake.  I have a clear I bought off amazon and with my 1st attempt lettering a commercial vehicle, tried wet apply and his phone # is still on my shop fridge, app tape and all. lol

  10. so I did  search. most newer post weren't answered. I did find an older 1 which most responses was no 1 had tried to cut mylar before. well im looking to cut it for the same reason that I saw most have posted asking about. making stencils. with our other biz chalk painting is big part. we paint furn or sell everything to DIY. so the wife ordered a few stencils from 1 of our suppliers, guess she didn't like using the 1s I cut from vinyl since it was hard to have something reusable , sometimes I was careful and got more than 1 out of vinyl, but it isn't going to be like the mylar 1s. I haven't measured what we have yet. but im planning on trying the 4 mil. so anyone have any info/tips

  11. Since switching over to scalps 4 I don't use VM much unless its for something I created in it b4 I started using scalps. 1 issue when I go back nd try to use it is the constant error messages and it needing to close the program, sent in several tickets or whatever as the program closed. well now cutting old designs its doing some odd cuts that wasn't in the original design. will post up some pics a lil later to show what im talking about. in the 1 the word is "parking" the bottom of the letters have the odd cuts. mainly the P A K. the next for some reason it has split a letter. it def didn't cut these like this when I made these  yrs ago.   again will load some pics as soon as I can

I think we are both Jeep guys. Think of it as someone spending thousands trying to upgrade a Dana 30 front axle to make it tough enough to rock crawl. Yeah you can buy expensive alloy shafts, put a truss on it and even trade out the tubes but at the end of the day it's not going to hold up with 37's with an ARB as compared to a Dana 60 or even a Dana 44.

@Wildgoose well that just reminded me what kind of jeep guy u r. lol. I now rem the specs on your last jeep. just like as u was explaining, most don't get the differences there.   I probably did as usual and put too much info of different things I was looking to do. and on this other printer im looking at . will try to do better

with the Epson printers, I have 1 set up with refillable cartridges that im going to use for make heat transfers.  the 2nd 1 if possible would like to set up to print sm decals and labels.

now for the 1 I was wondering about converting/changing type of ink. its a hp T770.  it seems to b priced cheap enough, but if all I can do is the same stuff as my 7610 just wider, not sure I need to invest in that right now. I started researching cost replacements, printheads, in carts and anything else I could think of since it is a used machine. and that's when I realized it uses the same ink as my 7610. so found out it only had 3 2 color heads. which cost less than $100 ea. and the same co. I ordered my refillable cartridges for my 7610 offered cartridges for it. after discussing printing ink with my friend @Primal Decals realized the issues with trying to print vinyl with this ink. so looked on US cutters site at HP printers they offer and noticed the replacement print heads looked similar and were close to the same cost and that's why I wondered if a conversion is possible.

  13. ok , so I see this subject brought up a few times on here. someone awhile back posted he had decent luck using an Epson artisan printer. with I take it using the pigment ink cartridges that comes with the printer. then the most recent discussion.  with this last post im unsure if the previous post had the luck he stated. well I have a couple Epson wf 7610s im  messing with , I bought refillable carts, and the pigment ink with Htv yellow . I was hoping to make some heat transfers and maybe start printing some sm decals. but again with reading the last post, seems decals are not possible with this equipment. this past week I found an hp wide format printer, but after researching it, it also uses pigment inks. its model t 770. its been sitting so ive looked up printheads and ink carts, both hp and aftermarket. printheads are cheap compared to other wide format printers. and the co I bought my Epson refillable carts from offer them for this printer. also reasonable. any one ever tried to convert 1 of these printers to latex or any other ink that can be used to print on vinyl? or the same old question of being able to print on vinyl with a pigment or dye ink
