I found your pic . 1rst thing I think of is if the pinch rollers are over the grit rollers ( not familiar with your cutter ) . Do you have vinyl unrolled enough so the cutter is not havong to pull the weight of the roll . If you are cutting a 2' decal , pull over 2' of slack . Blade holder tight & fully seated ?

YW , calibration is nothing to do with cutting quality . Calibration is for something you have sized at ex; 6" X 12" & it come sout 6 1/4" X 12 1/2" . Cutting quality depends on blade exposure , blade holder all the way in place , foriegn objects ( bits of vinyl ) in blade holder beside blade , blade sharpness , the file itself ( try other files ) , loose/stretched belt are all just some things that need to be checked . Bad quality doing a test , is something not in the file or software . It can be & most likely is a combination of mechanical things that need a few " tweeks " . Check the belt & cutting head to see if it is completely on the track . I'll see if I can find the pic you are talking about .

I am fairly sure it reads something like " reproduce or make " copyrighted stuff . Anything that makes you think of the copyrighted stuff is included . That is determined by the presiding Judge .

You calbrate in the software . What software are you using ? The cutter only does what it is sent by the software .

Wishlist for SCAL3Pro features you would like to see added.
Rodger replied to mars's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
Hey Bear , I still use SB Elements for it's features . Hoping that SCALPro eventually gets fully featured & equals or surpasses the Elements version of SB . It is worth buying SCALPro just for the weeding options IMO , especially when a special sale is going on . Wait for it to go on sale again ( $50 + $9 shipping ) or buy it for $99 shipped thru the e-bay auction of USC . -
I have looked for that also . I don't think that is an option ?? There is a setting in the cut screen under " Cut Mode " ... 1 is " Origin " , where it automatically puts the design to where the cutter starts ( saves vinyl & a NICE option that is an easier cutting alignment than any other software I have tried ) & the other is " WYSIWYG " , where it cuts the design as it appears in the mat .

hey Bruce , I was looking at air brush & Tattoo stuff on e-bay tonight . I would never have enough skill to do tats , but I was going to buy a set to have fun at the next UFC party . I can imagine my buddys reactions to me breaking it open & saying " Free Tattoos " . Gonna buy an air brush kit to play around with . Zillions of offensive stuff . there is a time & place for about anything , but in the publics eye some taste should be practiced IMO . I hate it when I see the dog balls hanging from truck trailer hitches . funny but ignorant to display to everybody . Ladys & kids should not have to have to see that .

YW . Same size as in each letter or the same length if different amount of letters ? You can size each line in the " position_size " window . Align them all center/center & move 1 up & 1 down until it looks good .
-
I just tried to do that & it wont do that for me either . Hmmm , a work a round is to make 3 lines & then align them . SCALPro has an easy align tool .

I have never heard of a volunteer paramedic ?? It isn't a silly decal to somebody who has that issue . I have a cousin that is 16 & 300 lbs . He tries to loose weight , but puts it back on quickly . That decal would upset him & make him feel even more distraught . I know there are plenty of things that are easy to overlook as being cruel & rude .. I was trying to open some eyes about sensitive things & about hurting some people's feelings . I know some people who are Hog fat & you could say anything to them & they wopuld laugh the hardest . I worry about the people who take it hard & worsens their life . Obviously you don't .

MH Series Vs SC Series
Rodger replied to shakiroin's topic in USCutter Equipment Feedback or Suggestions
I am absolutely sure I saw a UFO 1 time . I shook my head & my buddy standing right beside me asked if I seen that also . It is naive to think that we humans are the only or the highest form of intelligence IMO . I guess even mentioning UFOs demonstrates a belief in them ..... -
This is the decal I use " 16 ( I already done the math ) " . I think it is hilarious , especially when I have to explain it
-
5+ years of cutting vinyl & never a use for contour cutting .

I don't see how a " pity party " was started ... I said I would not help anybody with something like this . I have compassion for people who have been made to feel inferior with childish , immature stupid stuff like this decal . I have seen young fat kids get hurt feelings by mean rude people like yourself ... that is in the real world & there is NO need to be a mean cruel person .. that is your choice . I have a enormous sense of humor & there is much to joke about that does not hurt somebody , especially in core areas . The comparison you make is not relevant , you are paid to do a job , nobody here is paid to help .. it is all volunteers . What i think is VERY hilarious is that you think it is ok to be mean & rude making decals about something that is VERY sensitive to some people & say I got my feelings hurt ... & you take me saying I would not help a bit on a project like this & reacted more sensitively .. seems you gots the hurts feelings
-
I sure don't . I am not bagging on SC either . I enjoyed it when I was using it & the weed line options were great . SignBlazer came out , was much easier & that was that . SCALPro is the best deal right now , design with many features & no subscription ( even if just using as a cut software ,it is great as it has the same weeding options as SC ) . I bet there will be constant development & more features added with SCALPro ... at least I hope so

NO slappin allowed round here !!! .

Retire SignCut to the spare's storage area & use SCALPro . Sorta sounds like the blade is not picking all the way up when using SignCut ??
-
I myself enjoy busting over inflated egos with some people , but not sensitive stuff ... Being overweight is a VERY sensitive subject for some & the only time I thought it was funny making jokes about it was in that Eddie Murphy movie [ I can't remember the name right now ] . Since it was a movie & showed how it made some people feel , I enjoyed it . The best part of that movie was showing what damage it does to some people & the guy getting destroyed in the comedy club !!! People who think they are the shit with motorcycles . pool shooting etc are probably covering up inferiority complexes . but it is fun to personally bust their bubble .
-
I don't understand being mean , especially to people who have never done anything to a person . Even most of those who have crossed the line of good conduct deserve better than striking at certain areas that should be respected no matter what . My opinion is those peple have such insecurity complexes , they somehow feel better by demeaning others . VERY SAD !!! I have heard a saying most of my life .. it goes " It takes all Kinds " .. I disagree with that .. I think " There just are all Kinds "
-
I would not help with a saying like that . I consider it rude & mean . I hope Karma comes to visit you .. unless you are pefect , you might feel the feelings an overweight gal feels when reading a decal like that . I would not make a rude decal like that for anybody either . I'm 20 lbs overweight & hate it . I can only imagine how cruel that decal is for some people . Inside a comedy club , all if fair game , but not in the public scene .

LOL , 42 is the meaning of life ?? I know some people who would have said 420 .... I could use the snswer to the 2nd question much more I may not be able to find out the meaning of life with the right answer , but that would make it much more fun )

You are welcome . My electrical knowledge would take me that far also . I would try to determine if the board you speak of is the " power supply " . I have lost those in computers etc . Power surges , lightning etc takes power supplies out . All I had to do was get a power supply in each case . When you talk to a tech , you will be able to give them that info & they can tell you what & where to check to further determine the problem if needed . USC will help you even if you did not buy your cutter from them . They appreciate loyalty , but are nice enough to help anyway .
-
Ok , my question is ... What is the meaning of life & what is the winning lottery number for tomorrow ??

Flexi starter is basically a cutting tool . Very limited design features . Flexi Pro or whatever the top Flexi is has all the bells & whistles & nobody argues about it being the best design & cut software . They have several steps in between . Price is the only issue . I bought Flexi Started & hardly used it . I started with InkScape & SignCut ( came packaged with my cutters ) , switched to SignBlazer when USC started packaging it & fell in love with it. SCALPro is very good , does not have all the bells & whistles YET , but give EdgeCraft some time . 1 thing that SCALPro has , that is a GREAT tool .. is weeding line options that allow you to add weeding lines anywhere Vertically or Horizontally & as many as you like . My advice is not to buy Flexi Starter unless you need Contour cutting in the software to do what you need ( primary printed stuff ) . SCALPro is the best bang for the buck & with having SignBlazer free to use the features that SCALPro does not have YET , nothing else is needed IMO .

If the blade is out more than the thickness of the vinyl , it will cut into the backing paper with almost any amount of pressure . When I started , I tried to adjust pressure because I had lessened the blade exposure several times alread . I was all over the place especially when changing colors as it seems there s a difference . I do the manual test that Skeeter typed & press really hard . I use 120 grams of pressure on new blaeds & up it some as they dull . I get a smudge on white vinyl as I cut , from the blade holder & a shiny bottom of the blade holder . I have a Copam & it has grams of pressure settings . I think your cutter with a stepper motor can cut that small ... How the nodes are laided out is more critical than the size IMO . I agree weeding is more of the problem . I think the servo motors are mainly benificial on large decals that have large radius with few nodes . Check your offset , make sure your blade is sharp ( try a new blade just in case your blade got chipped etc ) , make sure you have not cut thru the backing paper into your cutting strip . It takes some fine tuning with certain vinyls & you will learn what to do with very thin vinyl like cast , calendar vinyl which is thicker & reflective which is thicker & harder .
