  1. It is that but that is the silver rainbow which I have been able to find along with gold rainbow but I cannot find it with red, blue, purple, etc colors.

This is it and even in the purple color too which is perfect. Odd sizes but works perfect for me. I have searched rainbow vinyl on ebay but it would always come back with gold or silver rainbow instead of colored. Thank you tons!

    Thanks everyone !!!!

  2. Hello all.

    Sorry to bother yet again.

I am in search of vinyl that this person is using or is nearly the same. They have not yet replied to its brand or anything at all. Not even to tell me off.

Was wondering if any of you knew what it may be. Looking for multiple colors but purple is one of my most used colors and would love this vinyl for myself.

If anyone knows, please let me know where I can purchase it.

    Thank you in advance!

  3. Some computers have just enough power to make it work like mine. I have an 18ft USB extension cable and my computer can make it print but if its more than one sticker or something, itll stop. What you have to do is get a USB.... (Name just left my head... one sec...) USB Hub. there we go. That has an external power supply so the information can make it.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I will try 751 next time. I have a ton of 651 because normally I just doo 6-12" automotive decals but everyonce in awhile, someone wants something big.

What about keeping the transfer tape from having a hard time and forming? Going to try Rtape next since I am running out of the tape I have (cant remember brand etc since it was free).

Tried Rapidtac before but out here, it evaperates very quickly. The dish soap stays wet a little longer so far. Works pretty good. Takes a little bit to dry but when dry, sticks great.

Definitely dont want alcohol. When first making this stuff, did that and same issue with Rapidtac, evaporated quickly.

Thanks for the help everyone. Now just need to find some holograph colored vinyl and purchase some 751, should be good to go!

  5. Are you working with cast vinyl / wet app?

651 and water with dishwashing soap. Have to spray a lot down in order for it to last long enough.

what i learned on that was i made sure the decal was warm (set out in the sun or apply very little heat with a heat gun or blow dryer)  before i applied it and it solved my issue.never had a problem after learning that trick and it didnt affect the vinyl either..

I have tried this before but living in AZ, its about 101 currently. The heat usually makes it more difficult to peal the backing paper off so I have noticed. If I remember correctly... Heat = stick more, water/colder = stick less right?

  6. Hello again all.

I seem to be having a bit of a difficulty applying large decals on more round surfaces. Most hoods and door panels I have worked on were rounded but only vertically rather than horizontally.

Recently I was working on a car that is more ball rounded instead of one direction. When applying the decal, it would crease from trying to bend it against another bend. Was wonder how you all get past this. The decal ended up folding in on itself and I scrapped it. Normally when applying a decal that is large, I tape opposite sides down and peel off one section to make sure it stays where I want it. Then when the one side is done, I will do the other side of the decal. (Works great for doing wall decals too).

As for applying long decals, does anyone get many bubbles when applying the decal even though when the transfer tape is still over it, doesnt exactly show the bubbles? Not sure how I keep getting them when doing bottom sides of cars. Gets quite annoying really.

    Thanks in advance!

    I apologize as well.

  7. So if I am correct, you are trying to get the outline to be inside and outside evenly? Correct? Like outline inner and outline outer? If so, for doing decals, would be better to just space out the letters and shrink them, then do a outer expand of the outlines since doing it in the center will keep a center line from the below layer unless you merge by removing front or back.

  8.  Nope

This makes me wonder. Does the 651 colors even last the full 5 years outside in direct sun and heat? I know the glitter vinyl says 3 - 5 years but only lasts a few months

  9. Mind sharing the file you are trying to import as well as maybe a jpg of the design to get an idea of how it looks and what the outlines look like, etc? I think it would help us best to help you with those. Otherwise, I would say in Illustrator to check your lines (Ctrl + Y) to see what is being used for cutting. Hope that helps a bit.

  10. He's got his own YouTube channel.  He's done at least 3 different TV shows (Trash to Cash, Dirty Money and Hammered) and is a Maker for Make: Magazine.

I'm one of those people who can sit down to watch one of his videos, and the next thing I know it's 4 hours later and my eyes are drying out and I've just watched him make 18 different things...

I watched some of them. Many I was amazed on and some I already knew but the turn out was awesome.

I am amazed that in this video itself, not using any special tools that he was able to bend the metal straight without a lot of angle to repair. Also love the idea of the christmas lights. Good cheap way to light up a "Sign" when its temporary. Smart. I'm going to have to try this one of these days.

  11. For what it is and cost, it doesn't seem really like it does enough.

For the price and size, I would expect it to also vinyl cut, and in the end, lay transfer tape over it so the user just has to cut the sections and that is it.

My guess is it uses vacuum suction to grab the vinyl and pulls up on it. It also seems risky where you dont know if maybe the vinyl might peel up with it or not. Doesn't exactly have a way to know if it needs to stop or not so sharp edges, etc may be more of an issue.
