  1. Mine aren't racks. Just displays for the customers.Capt'n if you keep your most used colors to the front I think that'll work fine. My problem is I have most of the 651 colors in stock and I never know what's going to sell next around here.

    Jay,

    I would say having that much 651 in stock wouldn't be considered a problem!   :lol: This is all a new endeavor for me and my wife, I appreciate every ones help and input. I have learned a bunch in the past few weeks and am enjoying setting up my shop and inventory. Thank goodness I am not having to make a living doing this at the moment. I can appreciate all of you business owners.  :thumbsup:  I speak from experience as I was in business for 10 years as I am a licensed HVAC Mechanical Contractor for 32 years.  It takes a special person who has the dedication and determination to get their arse out of bed everyday and make a living for themselves and their family.  I decided to switch hats and took that determination and went to work in 1991 for my local County. ( I tell people I went and got a real job!) I retire in 4 months and 10 days but who's Counting.   :D

  2. True, I agree that it would drive me nuts too, having to un-rack 2 rolls just to get at one in the back, but thats the beauty behind the adjustable rack. all you have to do is drop the rows low enough that you can get the one in the back out between the top and bottom rolls.

    Thanks for all your inputs! you are all correct never thought of getting rolls in and out.  Well as Mack says that's the beauty of adjustable racks.   :rolleyes:  Keep in mind I am just starting out and don't want to plunge into a bunch of colors I wont use. I figured I will get larger 50 Yard rolls down the road. I lost 3 shelf's spacing them out but that's okay, so presently the right row of shelf's will have all 10 yard vinyl enough for 24 types. On the end of rolls I will install caps as shown. I will have the color of these rolls on the caps. there will also be a product code as shown on the side of the roll. The left hand row will have 6  shelf's enough space for 12 50 yard rolls. As you can see now they are easily removed.  So what ya think now?   B)

    By the way, Jay that's a nice setup and some serious Vinyl.  :thumbsup:

  3. As I am just getting into this, I see the need to keep the shop organized to stay productive and to keep product stored properly. I have looked online and at stores and didn't like the type of vinyl storage racks I seen for my application. I decided to go with adjustable shelf brackets.I utilized a room in my basement that we no longer use for this purpose. I used 2" pvc pipe and cut a slit in the bottom of the pipe to fit over the shelf bracket. This serves two purposes it keeps the shelf brackets aligned and spread apart, and keeps the pvc from rolling thus keeping the rolls of Vinyl in place and coming in contact with each other.  On this small wall section I should be able to get 50 to 60 rolls of Vinyl in this area. More if I were to use 16" shelf brackets these are 12" shown. holding 1: and 24" rolls. Here is what it looks like. Tell me what you think.

  4. Howdy, I have been putting my shop together and was fixing to build a rack for my vinyl I will be using I need the size of the  vinyl inside tube ID and Outside OD of vinyl roll say10 yards and 50 yards. This will give me a good idea on the dimensions on what I need to make a storage rack for the Vinyl.

    Thanks  :rolleyes:

  5. just got back from Detroit area from a wifes family get together - looks like everyone covered everything fine - on the oven - I uses stacey's maytag gemini oven and don't worry about taking up more space with a convection oven

    Dakota, The Oven I have is a  Convection Oven Stainless Steel Kitchen Aid with smooth top electric which lays over our countertops when I designed and put in this new kitchen back in 2006. I don't think I'm going to pull out an oven that fits perfectly well and spend an unneeded $1439.10 and piss off the wife. :wacko:  Id rather spend 69.00 plus my use my10% off Walmart Lifetime discount card (she worked there 20 yrs and retired) and I can mount it to wall over my workspace and not sacrifice table countertop space.  :thumbsup:

  6. I have both plus Inkscape.

    If I had to choose just one...it would be Corel.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks Sue for the feedback and reinforcement. :thumbsup:  I pulled the trigger last night on Flee Bay and got v7.0 for 98.00 something. I have Photoshop 6.0 and a ton of elements so that will cover me there. I wouldn't mind getting the full version of Flexi sometime but need to get busy and learn Corel first. Ill be ordering the cutter this week and a Heat press. Thanks again!

    I have the 15x15 press from sunie and I like it. <br />

    <br />

    Does it get the job done?................ YES<br />

    <br />

    Do I wish I got a swing away.............YES<br />

    <br />

    It does suck having to look at your design at an angle when you're trying to line it up. I'll be looking for a swing away soon.<br />

    BUT the 15x15 works great and I've started making some real decent money using it. <br />

    I've been posting around on the local FB groups and people have been hitting me up like crazy because they only want 10-20 shirts and screen printers around here have a min of $500 to do an order. <br />

    <br />

    Sorry back on topic.. <br />

    DO NOT go any smaller then a 15"x15"<br />

    Swing away is nice but not needed to get your feet wet and start making money.</p></blockquote>

    Pm me and I bet we can get together on printing so we both make dome cash and all you have to do is handle the sale.

    Jaybird whats up with the Gobbly Gook?  B)

  8. For me corel. But that's only because that's what I started with.

    Thanks I just pulled the Trigger on version X7 for 98.00 bucks did I mention I was a student?  :rolleyes:  The student of life that is. These aren't Grey hairs their MILE MARKERS! Which proves I am smarter than the average Bear! B)

    I use both, don`t worry about cost.

    mark-s

    Really!    <_<   you get no likes for that one.  B)

  9. Thanks Guys,  :)  I really appreciate your help. I will get at least a 15X15 Swing Press in a SunIE. Later down the road I will try and catch a deal on a more professional model. On the Mug deal Yep looks like Cactus wraps are the way to go! I will order some and looks like a Hamilton Beach Convection oven will be in order. :thumbsup:   Heck if I get hungry while making Mugs I can always throw in some beans & bacon and have lunch! :lol:

  10. Well I went back to their sight and found this Swing Away which is 15X12 (is that big enough) but they also have a 15X18 Swing Away Listed but when I click the link it doesn't open up.  :angry:   I can see where a Swing Away would be nice to get a birds eye view and line things up better. The Swing Away is Still gives good center pressure w adjustment correct?  Thanks

  11. Dakota,

    Yep that Fusion is quite the press...... But Looks like Im gonna hafta "STAND DOWN"   :blink:  I can get about 5 of the SunIE presses for the cost of that one, :rolleyes: I have searched and found several posts and discussion where everyone (you included) have directed people twords these SunIE presses. I went to their website and found these two pictured below with links. Which one of them would you recommend? Most everyone in those posts I read agrees the 16X20 is the way to go over the 15X15.  Also do they sell good coffee mug presses? If so which one?  Thanks brother.  :thumbsup:
