  1. I just upgraded my MacBook Pro 2008 from OS X 10.6.8 to El Capital 10.11 I'm using Sure Cuts a Lot Pro 3 and my cutter (SC) is going berserk. I had it tuned perfectly before the upgrade with no problems. I read somewhere that there was a patch when Mavericks came out to disable the Apple USB drive upgrade. Any info on this? Thank you
  2. Hi I'm trying to cut an image that is too big for my cutter -- so I'm outsourcing. Any shops that are in the Philadelphia area that anyone can recommend? It's 30 x 56. The eps is too big to upload on here, but I've included a snapshot. I'd like oracal 631 and would like it unweeded with application tape applied. Any thoughts? Thank you

Sign cut tapering / skewed image

I tried with the double line and with no lines whatsoever. Both times there was an issue. I've been using cs5 - but I'll see if I can work with 8. And I'll also check with the pen/paper and tech support. Thanks all for taking a look at this.

Sign cut tapering / skewed image

I've had SCALP enlarge images numerous times (to the point where I just reduce the size to 99.28% to make it cut correctly). But no, I've never had anything taper like this in SignCut Pro. But it could've been that in smaller files I just didn't notice because the degree of distortion was minimal. I even tried retracing in AI, using both eps and svg -- weeding/no weeding. Its very strange.

Sign cut tapering / skewed image

The image is from a jpg, that was then traced and cleaned up in AI. I've done more complex images (that were smaller) and have had no problems. I'll try and do a very large square or shape tomorrow and see what it looks like. If that comes out skewed (or as when I cut in SCALP -- is 1/4 oversize) - can you recommend any remedies? Thanks for your help.

Sign cut tapering / skewed image

That is the correct image. No joke. The problem is that the image is larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. I know this because I am transferring it onto a 16" wide canvas. I also made a large scale inket print of the same image and overlayed the vinyl to double check. Here is a quick photo, hopefully it helps illustrate. The top measurement is 16" as it gets to the bottom it is at 15 3/16". You can tell from the blue release paper that the image veers in towards the bottom. And its not just the weeding line that does this. The whole image is proportionally compressed inward (noticed when I overlayed the vinyl on the inkjet print).

Sign cut tapering / skewed image

*Posted this in the 'sc cutter' forum, figured it best here. Hi I've been using my SC Cutter 24 effectively with small media (12" vinyl mostly.) I've been trying to print out a 16 x 18" image on 24" vinyl and every time (no matter the speed, the image tapers. What's strange is that there is no overcutting on the image so it doesn't seem like it would be an issue with the rollers. I'm super confused. Any ideas? I'm using SignCut Pro *I've tried the same image with SCALP, and it automatically enlarges by 1/4" all around. I'm very confused. Please see example. Thanks sneaksblackout.eps sneaksblackout.svg
  9. I have a mac so I can't use SignBlazer. I cut the same file in SCALP and it enlarged the image by 1/4" all around. (On the screen it said 16x18 - in real life it was 16.25 x 18.25). I ended up scaling the image down to 98% and it was ok, though a little bit off. I also checked calibration through SignCut and it was fine. Not sure why the image would be skewed/tapered.

Plotter stretching out image shape proximity ?

Tried it with SignCut and it worked perfectly. Overlayed the SignCut vinyl with the SCALP and there was a very noticeable difference. Thanks for the help!

Plotter stretching out image shape proximity ?

Thanks I'm running OSX 10.6 - I guess Sign Cut is my only option? Any alternatives - any reason this might happen in SCALP? Thanks
  13. Hi - I'm having a problem and I'm not sure which variable is the issue. Here's the breakdown: Start with image convert to vector open in SCALP (check scale to make sure correct) cut vinyl - when I place the vinyl, the image does not line up. All shapes are to scale, but their proximity is off. I'm using the Uscutter SC -- I'm wondering if its a problem with the machine? Here's an simplified image to illustrate. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

SCAL 3 Pro not opening on Mac 10.5.8 Leopard

Yes its: Mac OS X 10.5.8 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Any ideas?
  15. Hi I am very new and just set up my machine and am trying to get the program running to no avail. I initially tried the cd that came with the cutter and it crashed. Then I tried downloading and installing the same version from the site and that crashed as well. This happens as soon as I open the program file. It states in multiple places on line that its compatible with Mac 10.5 and up -- I'm running 10.5.8 Wondering if there's a patch or something or if someone else has come across this issue. Thanks very much
