    Corel or Adobe

As a graphic designer I recommend Adobe. Corel is good for signmaking but not as in depth as Adobe for creating logos, print collateral, or just about anything a graphic artist is responsible for. Just the plug in options alone make Illustrator well worth the money. BUT if you are getting it for free (essentially) go ahead and get the Creative Cloud Suite. Will have every piece of Adobe software at your fingertips...photoshop & indesign (both I use daily) as well as fireworks, dreamweaver, muse, flash, premier pro, bridge, many more. Plus 1k+ free to use fonts that aren't available to non Adobe users, free stock images & vectors...too much good stuff to go into detail but well worth the extra penny if that's an option.

    Who Embroiders?

I offer embroidery and screen printing...however I found It best for cost (and of course time) saving by just outsourcing these items. I get them at cost through a local printer that I do freelance design work for.

    4x4 Splash Wrap

Another truck graphic from Moody...go figure First time I have messed around with wrapping a cut graphic. Avery SW900 Matte Black....will never use any other material for vehicles after the ease of working with this. I have used it for solid wraps before but combined with R-Tape this was the easiest install I have done...even easier than my standard 4x4 decals with 751.Thicker material needs higher cut pressure but this would not have been possible to wrap around the bed using the 751 I would have normally cut this from...plus the air-release grid makes application a breeze and no need for a wet install. Applied both rear graphics, side sponsors (also cut from the Avery), trimmed, and post heated within an hour. I think there was more back and forth discussion on the design than actual production and application time.

Satin black 3M 1080 for stripes?

No STAY AWAY FROM 3M. Their quality control is not being addressed and the wrap vinyl leaves visible glue lines and "spider webbing". Get the Avery SW900 in Satin Black.

    Mulit-layered Flags

Some multi-layered flags I worked on this week. Maryland Flag FX4 decals for a customers truck...Oracal 751 Matte Black bottom layer with 751 Cardinal Red, 751 White, and 751 Yellow on top. Ford Emblems are wrapped with Avery SW900 Matte Black, then applied the Metallic Gray SW900 flag (matches Fords paint code UJ perfectly) and lastly SW900 Glossy Black for the Ford lettering. Everything was hand applied without...yes without...using transfer tape on theses.

    Another happy customer

Yeah a guy in town has his front bumper wrapped in diamond plate....I guess to look like a custom steel bumper?? Well now it look like a purple mess...on a silver truck.

oh no lol Did you happen to snap a picture of the decals?

    Wheel graphics and math! HELP!

I have a soft tape (like a clothes alteration shop uses) to measure round objects. Works every time.

Here's mine that became a "matching accessory" to my truck

    Need a Yeti Rambler Mug

From what I have seen locally you won't be getting any until after the new year. Looks like they are completely backed up from the manufacturer. You could look into an alternative...obviously with a big name like YETI that's all you are paying for anyway. RTIC makes one that looks identical (even down to the embossed logo) for half the cost.

    Huion610

What are you trying to find out? I use the Wacom Intuos...similar....and it just simply replaces the mouse with a drawing pen. Works in all applications and programs just as a mouse would.

    window template??

I just did one recently for a customer. Will need the width of the windshield and then give the text a slight arc to contour to the shape. If you cut straight will end up looking like a "frown" on the car.

Using AI2 and trying to transfer to SCAL pro

    Ha beat me to it.

Using AI2 and trying to transfer to SCAL pro

I would suggest updating SCALP (if you have not already) then if that doesn't work upgrade your Adobe to CS3 or higher. Probably a compatibility issue between the two programs. Also you may want to try a plug in. I use one for Sign Cut Pro and never have to save multiple files to clog my hard drive. https://www.craftedge.com/download/download_extras.php

    4x4 Splash Wrap

I did. Graphic Artist by trade so I do all my own artwork.
  22. I say go for a niche market. Do something with very little competition and you constantly find yourself with many sales. Be creative and have fun with it. That's how I got started. Moreso a hobby that has grown into keeping me really busy on the weekends lol. Also you may find yourself with repeat customers and those are the best for "word of mouth" sales. I don't use etsy however. Just instagram and a facebook page. I "advertise" within relevant facebook groups for social marketing and always seem to get "shoutouts" on instagram from happy customers as well. Built my page last year and has grown to 2k+ followers and have not spent a dime for advertising.

    First multiple color job

I only mask the top most layer. Lay the top masked layer onto the middle then again lay that onto the bottom layer and trim. I prefer R-Tape.

Vinyl loses adhesiveness during winter ?

What is he sticking it to? Glass? Car paint? Maybe he did not clean the surface well or let the adhesive get exposed to windex or alcohol from not drying the surface? Multiple factors could cause this...oily/waxed surface, temperatures too cold for application, or just bad vinyl could cause this. I don't buy cheap vinyl just for reasons such as this. I mostly use Oracal 751 or 951 for glass and Avery SW900 wrap vinyl for anything on painted surfaces such as cars and trucks.

    Signcut Mac issue

Interesting. Didn't have this issue with my upgrade. All I had to do was re-update cutter info as Wild Goose had shared.
