    Hello Vinyl

Just for reference i use my early 2011 MacBook Pro on OSX Mavericks with my Graphtec CE6000-60 and Adobe Illustrator CS6 & Creative Cloud with the Graphtec Cutting Master 3 plug in (which you can download online) and it works great. I have not had any issues with it at all. My decision came down to Graphtec vs Roland, and i chose the Graphtec since it works with the mac. You can do a decent amount of work with the stand alone Graphtec Studio program on mac, but i prefer designing in Illustrator, and the plug-in for illustrator is great for my workflow. Like some others have said you may need a windows computer in the future for running a large format solvent printer, but, a cheap windows computer should be easy to fund along with the other $14,000+ invested if you end up doing that jn the future.

    Accounting Software

I have been using quickbooks online and like it well enough. its like ~$12 a month. I like that you can access it from a smartphone or the computer. I have mine synced with my business bank account and it makes for easy entry of vendor invoices. You can always give it a free trial. It helps me keep up with estimates, then convert to invoice for billing, plus you can email invoices and estimates straight from the web interface. I can't tell you anything about the quickbooks that you buy and install.

    Some new work....

Thanks, i hope to recoup my investment soon. I was really stuck between the fusion and a hotronix auto clam, but I'm glad i went with the fusion for a heat free workspace. So far i have pretty much used it only as a draw press, and its been good.

    CM3 for osx Mavericks???

Why are you not able to use Cutting Master 3? I have been using it with CS6 and CC since November with my ce6000, it runs fine on mavericks.

    Full color vinyl stickers?

usually the only "budget friendly" way to sell those types of stickers is to outsource the printing. if you want to print something that has a chance of surviving outdoors it needs to be printed with a solvent or eco-solvent printer, and they are pricey. Starting around 12-20k and up or the Roland BN-20 which does small format and has a limited range of compatible media still runs about 8k anything printed with regular ink jet inks stands no chance of lasting outside with out being laminated, and even then you would be better off going with solvent prints, or latex - haven't heard that much about the new latex printers yet... a few of the forum members on here print, you might be able to work something out or you can check out some of the other trade wholesale printers online good luck on whatever method you choose.
  11. its 4 degrees here... but no snow at least
  12. I dont envy all that snow... Everybody in my town was freaking out and making a mad dash for groceries, afraid of the coming snow... Its been nothing but a little rain and blue sky the whole time. If it did snow it would be like 1-3" tops, except in the higher elevations, they can get hit pretty hard. Thats awesome your mail still gets delivered in that, our drivers stop delivering pretty quick when its icy, there are a lot of winding mountain roads here with no guard rails, so i don't blame them much.
  13. I want to check and see what others would charge, who include there shop overhead in a quote. I was asked to provide a quote for 100 qty decals in two sizes 8.5 x 4.5 relatively simple weeding, the same decal at 100 qty 6 x 2.25. I would be using Oracal 651 white, rtape transfer tape. i quoted 498 + sales tax for larger decal, and 382 + sales tax for the smaller decal. The customer declined my estimate and said he could get them for $98 down the road. When he originally asked for the quote he said he would do the weeding himself, i declined and explained that i only sell finished ready to apply decals, not cut vinyl film.
  14. that is quite a job! are you doing cut vinyl or screen printing?
  15. Yeah thats what i was thinking too. I thought about going down to start at four and three for both, but i am still trying to get all of my pricing set up. I think for $98 dollars, that person may only be cutting the vinyl and handing it off to him for weeding. Not something that i personally would agree to.
  16. Thats good to know, i figure they will work fine, just might not last as long.
  17. yeah, i bought them from bidprice101 on ebay. both supposed to be cb09ua blade holders and 45 and 60 degree blades. I wonder if the "ua" at the end makes a difference. I am about to email the seller to see if they know whats going on. I have actually had them sitting around for about a month before i touched them. they are both generic though, including the blades. i didn't read about the clean-cut blades till after i had bought these.
  18. Thats what i was thinking too. Not an issue right now since i am using the original blade and holder with the Oracal Vinyl. Just seems strange that the inside of the blade holders are different...
  19. Hello everyone, This is my first post, and i have a question about the Graphtec blade holders mentioned in this thread. I bought two aftermarket blade holders for my CE6000-60. One came with 45 degree blades, the other with 60 degree blades. I have had them sitting around for a while, and this is my first time trying to use them. I was using the blade holder and blade that came with the cutter because i was only playing around with the greenstar vinyl that came with the cutter. Since then i have purchased some Oracal 651 and 751. my question is how do you load these blade holders, and are they supposed to be different? the pieces within the metal blade holder housing the blade would sit against are both different in each blade holder. They are not like the blade holder that came with the cutter because the spring will only fit over the blade, rather than through the brass piece on the plastic blue tipped holder that came with the graphtec. I have learned a lot by reading the forums so far, and appreciate any assistance with this issue. Hopefully the pictures will help explain why i am not sure how to assemble the new blade holders. Thank you.
