    jump start

It's too SMALL (9.53K) for most auto trace programs. Even enlarging it then tracing you will be node editing a lot. Here's some fishing line.... Print it out sharpest you can then take your phone and photograph that at a high resolution. Then try your trace software on the high res. photo. Or hand trace as suggested above....may just take less time. Sue2

    Teespring or DIY Shirts?

Basically you are looking at: Outsourcing = No Work/No Stock/No Time/No Postage/No Money Handling = Small Profit per piece or DYI = Equipment & Stock Investment/Labor/Control/Postage/Payment Acceptance = Larger Profit per piece How much larger profit is the question once you factor in your costs and do you have the TIME available. How many shirts will it take to offset the cost of new equipment/stock and time? Both options require quantity to make a reasonable profit. Teespring requires a minimum within a set time frame or the order is canceled. Nothing lost, nothing gained but time. BUT you have to work within what they offer. DYI you can actually make just one or two samples... and imprint wherever you want...people do like to SEE and TOUCH the item if possible. If it doesn't fly, move on to the next idea. Just my take.... Sue2
  4. Sometimes you have to say NO to what the customer "Wants". YOU are supposed to be the expert. Inevitably, if those teeny rays don't stick well, you or your materials will be blamed first. I guess this is good place for a written warning that the customer has to acknowledge. Sue2

Hope they didn't pay a lot for that. Just take a font that's close and put pimples on it.... Sue2

    What cutter to buy?

The best you can afford and plan to save for a better one if it's not a Graphtec, Roland or Summa. Often there are good deals around on used if you watch. Sue2

    No reason but...

You know...looking around even here, there are no buildings being built that anyone would want to save or preserve in 50 years! Now the buildings are being consturcted on the cheap with no style. You have a rough GEM there....see if you can get historic tax credits for the remodel. Many towns are offering them now....or check if there is a Preservation Organization active in your town. Sue2

    No reason but...

What a great old building! Love all the brickwork trim. What does the rest of the neighborhood look like? A coffee house would be a nice renter! Keep us updated. Sue2

    16" x 24" magnets?

I have a painting contractor that has had three18x24" magnetic signs on his van for many years now....with no problems. I just recently replaced the back one that had started looking worn.... but they have not been blown off. Who knows, but I don't warranty or guarantee them either and always tell them to move the magnets around and clean under them frequently. Buyer/user be aware. Sue2

    Vinyl Weeding Issue

Does CutMaster have a "View Wireframe" option. This should show you the cut lines. From your description, you probably have both outlines and fills that are being cut. You need to get rid of the outlines. Sue2
  17. We can only hope this will continue..... but it would be to Adobe's advantage to keep users hostage somehow. I am surprised Quark hasn't stepped in to offer an alternative to those not wanting to be tied into "Cloud" subscriptions. Sue2

    best vinyl for shirts

I got some of the Fibron from Fellers but hated the pin-feed holes that only gave me 14" out of the 15" material. I find Sisser Easy Weed is the best for me and the easiest to weed. Sue2
  19. $600 per year adds up... How many of us use a program 3-4 years or more before deciding to update? Will Adobe continue to offer the stand-alone versions( non Cloud-based)? With "Cloud" based programs....your files are useless if/when you decide you don't want to continue paying monthly... unless you have up to date stand-alone programs installed on your computer. I purchased the ADOBE CS6 package disk purposely to avoid the "Cloud" issues. I don't need 30+ programs and the latest whistles and bells to design signs, banners, business cards and brochures. It's Smoke & Mirrors to get you to sign up perpetually. Sue2

    Metallic/glittery gold vinyl

Black outline may stand out better with gold glittery surrounded by a zebra patterm or a solid black rectangle area where the lettering etc is to go. Sue2
