Craft Robo can't find registration marks, HELP!
edge replied to Etreme Crash's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
I encounter this issue most often when I'm in a hurry and the project feeds into the device skewed. Watch the bottom edge or registration marks as they are oriented to the rollers, this generally effects reading the third mark. The second most common cause for me is neglecting to observe the guide mark causing the project to be too far left or right, this generally results in not reading the second registraion mark. My Epson 88+ printer also causes issues when the page does not feed true thru the printer. -
Do U have these? http://www.dafont.com/ww2-aircraft.font

Where did you see it on the site @ $30 for 3 years? You got my interest up.

For anyone considering the RoboCut, the 'ACCU-BLADE Holder' replacement is well worth considering.

My copam is not measuring heat transfer material properly....

I have this problem with EasyWeed black, have determined as you suspected the light is not reflecting back. Solution was to wrap a white self adhesive address label or tape around the edge near the photo sensor. -
Or download the free trial version of Corel

Sign Outlet Store on Odgen Ave in Lisle is a big Avery supplier among other brands, get on their mailing list as they have good open houses each summer with deals. Speciality Graphics Supply in West Chicago is a good source for heat applied vinyl. Not certain they have a true store front; they do have sample rings with the actual vinyl available.

In Corel, one would contour to the inside the element you desire to make thinner, then break the contour apart and remove the original element; leaving the now thinner element. I belive AI is similar in that approach.

Laserpoint 24" get stuck and sits on waiting with FlexiStarter8.5
edge replied to DescineModern's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Does it resume on it's own after the wait? How much RAM are you using? -
I'd be interested in seeing what you came up with. I have only performed one "In Memory Of" for a friend and his extended family. For me, I have no creativity when it comes to these; as I would not personally display one and feel that emotion gets in my way when attempting them.

If you have editing software, break the project apart and cut the outline only. For more detail in the outline, you may desire to trim it with some of the other elements (curves) in the project. Did you have a specific silhouette in mind?

Ebay "Power Heat Press"
edge replied to midwaste's topic in Clamshell Heat Press Discussion or Support
First determine how to enter into the calibration or correction mode (Manual would be useful for this). On the press I have one holds the SET key for aprox 7 sec, upon which time the temp display changes to C. Obviously prior to performing this step, one would have already measured and determined if the press was too warm or kool for the display setting. Again on my press, once the C is present, one then uses the up/dwn arrow keys to adjust the thermostat, hence one is recalibrating the sensing circuit. Once recalibration has been performed, I believe on my press one then taps the SET key again to return to normal display. It would be foolish to attempt this task without the use of a good thermometer, I prefer IR style. It's best to perform this task after the press has been on for quite some time to stabilize the platen temps. Now there could also be a condition of inconsistent temps. As an example the last time you used it; the press was right on...but then the next time it wasn't...which could indicate a faulty thermostat or (this is the important part cause it's something you could correct) it could have a bad connection among the myrid of wires contained in the console. If you don't know what to look for I'm not going to coach you on that one cause you'd have no business being in there. If on the other hand you do know what you are looking for...then go for it. -

Many of the imports with digital control have correction capability from the front panel. This may entail holding a SET or similar button for several seconds to place the processor in correction mode, you would then use the arrow keys to adjust your calibration accordingly. Allow the press to warm for some time B4 correcting. In spite of many not liking the import presses for one reason or another; mine keeps chugging away. -
In addition to the IR thermo tip above; give the press plenty of warm up time to stabilize.

We've got someone in our area selling queen and king mattress sets new in plastic; placing their large plastisol staked signs everywhere. Guess they must have overspent on materials, cause they've chosen to use magic marker in cursive to script them no less. Every time I spy one, I wonder what the rest of the story is......... Honestly, I've seen them 150 miles apart, figure it must be another internet 'rags to riches' scheme.

I see New Milford Photo is running a sale on Image Stixx opaque white 8.5 X 11 @ 49

I'll say you should have...Whatever compelled you to own a 74 matador?
-
Maybe it wouldn't be suitable in your case....I use AVERY printable clear mailing labels for just about everything but mailing. While not cling, the adhesive appears willing to give when removing on all but paper.

I'm gonna convert my plotter into a plasma cutter just as soon as I can figure out how to feed .25 sheet steel through it. Then to produce income during my retirement years I'm gonna buy (by then it will be) an old bottle beverage machine with the glass front and stepper motor to dispense product and convert it to custom cut vinyl down on the street corner for coin. But I never would have thought of the garage door opener; thanks for the idea.

Never utilized the batch conversion untill I read this thread. Sliced bread may be overated, but in my mind IrfanView isn't. thanks

That's simple enough that you'd have thught I could have figured it out. I thought if I centered the area of interest it would zoom likewise. Untill now I also did not know I could also tap the scroll wheel and move the mouse for screen centering. Thanks
-
In Corel X3 when I zoom the project view for more detail with the mouse scroll, sometimes it'll scroll straight on and at other times the zoomed view scrolls with an offset, resulting in the project escaping off my screen. What controls this? How can I ensure the project view remains centered when I zoom? Thanks
