What do you use for shipping large decals?
VIPvinyl.com replied to VIPvinyl.com's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
cool! thanks for the ideas. was just worried that rolling it up would affect the sticker when trying to apply it. -
What do you use for shipping large decals?
VIPvinyl.com posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
as of right now, 99% of all the stickers i sell online are either small enough to fit in a standard envelope, or the larger ones, i fit in a 11x13" catalog mailer size envelope. i want to start selling larger pieces, but i have no clue on how to ship them, and what would be cheapest. for example, a banner for the front windshield of the car, that would be around 5' long by 1' tall. thanks in advance for the input! -
Pricing help for 1000 vinyl stickers
VIPvinyl.com replied to uscutterboy's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
man! even if it was 1000 plain circles, i wouldn't do it for that price! like said before, maybe .75 or so. really depends on the complexity of the design and how hard it is to weed. -
looks nice! actually seen that sign! i live in orange too, right off of la veta and batavia area!

importance of vinyl used versus blade for detail cutting
VIPvinyl.com replied to JSPEK's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
really. . . .honestly. . . .its all about blade adjustment on my copam. i cut a yankees baseball logo with the tiny stitching on the ball, and it works perfect. the guy i got my copam from gave up on the business for this very reason. i played with the adjustments for about a half-hour and has been cutting fine ever since. i use a magnifying glass to look at the blade and its easier to adjust. i have the speed on the lowest setting and the pressure on the lowest setting. using the generic ebay blades and gavrielli house brand vinyl. used some 3m and had to use a little more pressure, but still cuts perfect. never messed with any of the program or offset settings ever. using signcutx2 for cutting. thats all the info i have hope it helps -
i use signcut x2 with windows vista and USB and have no problems at all. you cannot contour cut with the copam cutter.

got my free roll as well! 48" x 5yds glossy white! at least it wasn't some leftover color!

Which program with the 24 inch Copam?
VIPvinyl.com replied to gooddeal's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
yikes! i guess it just comes down to the person and your knowledge of computer systems and software. i bought mine from a friend with NO instructions and no drivers and no software and had mine up and cutting my first sign withinn 2 hours of bringing it home. sorry yours didn't go that well! -
could have used this info a few days ago. i cut a 6 foot long design, and didn't run the vinyl out and then back in as suggested above, and needless to say, i wasted a few feet of vinyl cuz the rollers came loose and stopped feeding. great tips! thanks!

you have to first setup the image in multiples in illustrator (or whatever you use) then, when you import it into signcut, ust the red arrows to flip the image till it goes across the vinyl. think of the white area of signcut as the vinyl sideways. all signcut does is transmit the image to the cutter. all duplicating or tiling should be done outside of signcut.
