I am looking for a cluster of grapes to etch on a glass wine bottle. I also could use wedding bells, or two wedding rings, or any other wedding vectors. I have searched this site, as well as brands of the world, and nothing! Thanks! Quadi

I have tried every contribution concerning vectorizing. I have had success in the past but simply cannot move my eps. or svg. file made in Inkscape to SBD. I have been at it for 2 hours. I also cannot import the jpg. file to vectorize it. Someone, please help. Thanks. Quadi

Thanks for your replies. I found another way to get the result I wanted.

When I have traced the file in Inkscape, and click "save as" and try to save it an an eps file, a screen pops up that says I have to save it as a svg.file or I will lose the data. ??? I am totally confused.

I sandblast these mugs all the time, and I wholesale them for $6.00 each, or retail for $10.00. If I make a mask for something special, I charge $12.00. The stores to which I wholesaLE charge $14.95. As far as removing all the tape and masking, soak them in a bucket of water for about 15 minutes and the tape will actually fall off, and the vinyl will peel away easily.

I normally do not have trouble vectorizing going through inkscape. For some reason, I cannot get this one done. There is a file I titled historic.eps, but when I try to upload it into SBE it tells me that the file cannot be opened. I can't understand why one time I can vectorize, and the next time I can't. Thanks for any help you may offer! I have also looked this page over and cannot seem to upload my image. When I click on the icon it loads but I can't figure out how to load it. Help!!!!!

Great job Toolman! I started with an air eraser, advanced to a blasting cabinet, and am about to purchase the pencil blaster. I am addicted to etching glass. I am ready to start selling all the stuff I have etched.

I have tried (and tried; then tried again ) to vectorize this logo through inkscape, then saving it to an eps file. I can find the file but I cannot get it transferred into SBD so I can cut it. Nor am I able to open the file that I have found. Can someone help me, please? I need to cut 40 of these before tomorrow. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I am attaching the jpg. file. Quadi

Manwayvan, thanks again for your help. The eps cut beautifully and I had the forty decals whipped out in nothing flat. :)
-
Thanks, Manwayvan. It oppened beautifully. It seems to need some clean up. I will see how it cuts and let you know. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, maybe someone else will come to the rescue. In the meantime I am reading all I can about vectorizing in Inkscape.

A black square box appears in my SBD files but it does not open. Thanks.

I guess I had also better look and see who has offered the help. Sorry about that manwayvan. I opened the file in SBD but it appeared in about 10 different shades of black and grey. :) Thanks, anyway.

:)Thanks, Speeddoggy! I really appreciate the help. I am trying. Question. When I open a jpg in Inkscape, trace bit map, delete original then save I have been saving in eps. But when I get ready to close Inkscape, it wants to save the image in SVG or else I will lose data. Should I save in eps anyway, then close without saving the file to Inkscape?
-
Thanks, Speeddoggy. Now I am unable to find that file either unless I close out, go to search, and type in eps files. Then I find it but can't find it in order to upload it. :-

Can someone please help me with this. I downloaded this for a client in a different state. The image was missing part of the oval at the top. I used inkscape and changed the image from a jpg. to and eps. file, but it will not open in SB as anything but a jpg. file. When I try to import it into SB the image does not transfer so that I can vectorize it??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! PS I have tried to attach image, but all I get is [img.]. What do I do with that?

Thanks, Scott! I contacted Drakesis and he was able to clean up the file and eps. for me. I had tried until I was about to lose it, so I finally decided to let someone help me. Drakesis' price was very reasonable and the file cut very, very clean. Thanks

I finally managed to get the image vectorized. I scanned it into SB, then went into 'iage' monochromed it, then vectorized it. However, it is not clean at all, and I still need help with it. I still am having trouble uploading into this sight. will try again. Thanks.[/img]

These aluminum water bottles are available at most Walmart Super Stores. I saw them yesterday in three different colors for $3.00 each.

I have made a number of different decals, and have used a semi-opaque transfer tape that works well for the transfer, but it curls on the corners from the base paper. I find this not too impressive when selling decals. Anyone out there who can suggest another taper that will stay flat until the decal is transferred? Thanks. Quadi

Thanks, jhelms.

Schramm, I ahve been looking at your posts for quite some time now. You do amazing work. I personally like the all black (larger size), but then I would because I am a silhouette artist and black and white really appeals to me. I have learned a lot from you concerning glass etching. Check out my website www.azsilhouetteartist.com. I will be opening a store online in which I will be offering personalized silhouettes etched in glass. Quadi -

quadi replied to bowhunter012004's topic in Instructional Contributions
I have watched this video several times, but am not able to see what is happenng becaue the print is so small, and the demonstration is way too fast for begiiners. I would like to be able to vectorize my own clip art. Any suggestions?
