Still looking for a MENTOR in the Cleveland area
VinylLPCP replied to VinylLPCP's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I found a vinyl sign shop down the street from me the other day. Will go in and see if they wouldn't mind helping me with a few things, but I AM STILL LOOKING for some assistance from someone in the Cleveland area if you can find some extra time? -
May find your answer quicker in the support section. This section is for showing others the work you have created. Mike

***How To Video*** Simple Vectorize in Inkscape
VinylLPCP replied to tlzimmerman's topic in Instructional Contributions
Excellent video. Would have been nice to slow that pointer down a bit, but can always hit the pause button. -
Update: Samples came last Friday. They also sent me a dvd on how to wrap a car and the tools needed. Looks simple enough, but I don't have a large enough printer for car wrap vinyl and don't plan on doing this anyway. Mike

Hi everyone, I placed an ad on here elsewhere but think this is a more appropriate place fore it. If there is someone in my area that knows the basics of the laserpoint 24, I am willing to pay you $100 a day for 4 hours of training me. $25/Hourly. You don't have to know everything. Basically, to start with I want to learn how to vectorize a picture, preferably in inkscape and then send it to SBE to be cut. So if you are using your laserpoint successfully and can come to my place to teach me a few of the basics and give me some tips please get back to me in this forum. If you email me and it goes to my bulk email i'm afraid I may accidentally delete it. After you leave a message here, and I respond back then you can send me email with your phone number and I will give you mine as well so that we can hopefully get a schedule set up. Thanks. Michael -
I also ordered some samples from them almost 2 weeks ago and nothing yet. Maybe they thought I was being too greedy by ordering samples of about 10 different items. Mike

Nice Topper. When are you starting the drawing classes so that we can all make our own graphics like you do?

$$MENTOR$$ Needed...Cleveland Area, Hands On
VinylLPCP posted a topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Hello everyone, I am new in this cutting arena. What I will be needing sometime in the very near future is a mentor that is experienced with the "LaserPoint Vinyl Cutter w/ CONTOUR CUTTING feature" If you are in the Cleveland, OH. area and know the ins-and-outs of using this machine and would like to make some extra cash in your free time, please shoot an e-mail my way. Please Include a phone number and best times to call to discuss training & pay. I would need 4 hours minimum of training for each class. You will need to let me know the "softwares and tools" you are using in advance so that I can aquire them before classes begin. I would like to learn inkscape and SBE first. And will also be buying from USCutter, 1, 2 and 3 of the vector art series. Also I will be buying a lot of the cheap vinyl to get started with. My only class days available will be... SUNDAYS...2pm on TUESDAYS...11am on WEDNESDAYS...8am on THURSDAYS...8am on Also if you are applying vinyl on cars, storefronts, etc, and wouldn't mind me watching and maybe helping you out a bit, just to get a feel for it, that would be great as well. -
Etched glass (not the vinyl)

Hi everyone. I am new here as you can see. Just purchased a LP Cutting Plotter from USCutter. The only cutter I have used in the passed was a Cricut Expr. Yes, I know this is a big step up, and I also know I will need some help when it arrives in about a week. When I say "help" I mean, hands on. Since this is an intro, I will post my requirements at a later time as well as what I am willing to pay for help to someone in the Cleveland, OH. area. One thing I really enjoy doing is sandblasting. Not big stuff like rocks and signs, because I just have a small portable unit. I blast designs on car windows, coffee mugs, rosewood pen sets in rosewood boxes and things like that. And I just sandblasted a pic of myself on a mirror. Most of the items I do are just gifts for birthdays and holidays for friends. I like very much of what I have seen on these forums so far from the short time I have been here. Especially like seeing the different projects you all have done, as well as the video tuts. I have learned so much already just by reading everyone's posts and copying and pasting certain important information into my word pad. Thanks for reading and hope to talk to all of you again real soon. Thanks. Michael
