after 1 week - display not working
kenimes replied to dimitri's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The speed and force can only be set on the cutter itself. I apologize for the LCD issue. It is possible a wire popped loose inside and if you feel comfortable enough trying, you can remove the 4 screws from the top, open it up and check. My other thought is that it may be a motherboard issue if all of the wiring looks intact. Keep me posted Ken -

MH721 new cutter and wont work
kenimes replied to hotrodrichie's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Sometimes during shipping the carriage pops loose. Not a manufacturing issue- an issue with the shipping company and the way they handle their packages. You can press up on the carriage to re-seat it on the tracks. Once re-seated....you should be in business. -

MH721 rollers just stop
kenimes replied to hek03's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
We can ship to Mexico, but I think Marcus is correct on this one. I've seen a couple just recently acting in a similar way that needed the main board replaced to resolve the issue. Replacement main boards can be found at www.uscutterdirect.com Ken -
You can change the mm to inches, or even cm if you want. Open SignCut, click on settings, and then settings again......unit and area unit is where you change to inches. As for the Inkscape question, I am not certain, but I'll go ahead and load the software and see if I can find out. Ken Looks like you can click on view and then zoom in Inkscape to make the page bigger.

Feed Problems with Copam 2500
kenimes replied to espy's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I got her message and have responded with a resolution........hopefully. -
***File transfer from Inkscape to SignCut-X2*** Click the FILES menu and the SAVE option in the menu-list. Choose where to save the final. The IMPORT-folder situated under the SignCut-folder is recommended. Choose the EPSformat. Be sure that the ?Convert text to path? is checked! Then open SignCut and click the open folder in the top right. Find your file and open it. Hope this helps Ken

LPT1 Connection
kenimes replied to knight's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
It is best to use the LPT cable that came with the cutter. I have heard of longer cables not working properly. Also make sure that there are no other printing devices installed on the machine that may conflict with the cutter. Parallel port mode should be set to ECP in the BIOS as well. Happy cutting! -
Yea, we only just recently found out ourselves. Spread the word......Keyspan is awesome!
-
Yes- currently the Keyspan USB to Serial is the best solution for Mac users with the Copam.

cutter cutting wrong
kenimes replied to lexlutha's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Like Billy mentioned, SignCut is really just for cutting. You will want to create your text files with another graphics program and import them to SingCut for the cutting. -
Welcome to the forums. Plenty of great people on here willing to assist as much as possible.

You might see if you can manually move the arm up and down. It does not move alot, but should move up and down a bit. Try and run a self test by pressing the TEST button on the cutter itself. Ken

Marcel and his wife are relocating to Portland. :salut: Unfortunately for us, he is not willing to make that commute to work every day. :dontknow: Not sure who he will be working for down there, he has several options in the works.

Bottom of block letters not square
kenimes replied to graphixUlimited's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Sounds like maybe a speed or offset issue. Try lowering the speed on the cutter a bit and adjusting the offset in the cutter dialoge. It will take some practice and fine tunning before it comes out perfect. Different size lettering and graphics call for different settings which you will come to master over time. If you have scrap vinyl or paper to practice and fine tune with, it will save you from wasting good vinyl. -
how far away from electronics???
kenimes replied to BoostinGST's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
A few feet should be plenty. I have my desktop 12" cutter sitting about a foot away from the computer and am doing just fine. There is a magnet in the carriage, so I think they are concerned with the static electricity other electronics may produce. As long as they are not sitting up against each other, you should be Ok.
