  1. A hard drive that grinds is never good. Sounds like the driver for your COM port is corrupt and Windows cannot self configure it. If you would like, I could try and troubleshoot the issue. Just email me directly to setup a time when we can try a few things. kenimes@uscutter.com
  2. Responded to you today. On the bottom of your Quick Install insert, it does say that we no longer include the test vinyl. This is simply because it was crummy, out dated vinyl. It caused more head aches than it was worth. As for the blank Purchase Ticket, I asked that you email me directly at kenimes@uscutter.com so I can get you a license number and ticket code ASAP. Tater- you can email me as well with shipping info. and I'll make sure we send you some spare blades. Ken

Settings, Baud, Copam, Keyspan, Mac OSX

SignCut has just released a new version of SignCut for Macs. It can be downloaded from www.sc-x2.com Just go to customer login, and then once logged in, go to downloads. SignCut says this new version addresses several issues with Mac users.
  4. Oops, for some reason I assumed he had a Mac. There should not be a problem using the USB to Serial with a Windows computer. If so, there is an updated driver available for download from our downloads section of uscutter.com Ken corrected.....lol
  5. It sounds like you may be having a hardware issue. You can email me directly at kenimes@uscutter.com to try some troubleshooting, or to setup a time we can talk on the phone for support. Ken

    Cutter goes APE!

The text feature that SignCut-X2 offers is very basic. The source code that this feature is built upon is actually ripped off right from a Microsoft example. But it has some drawbacks because it acts differnetly dependiing on which Windows version it is running upon. It should still cut the basic text you ask it to however, and if it is continuing to act this way, I would suggest downloading the latest version of SignCut from www.uscutter.com It is located in the Downloads section under Drivers. Ken
  7. If you have trouble with the USB to Serial cable that comes with the cutter, many users have found that the Keyspan USB to Serial adaptor works great. Like $30 or so at your local computer shop.

    Mac Setting for SignCut

There is a new version of SignCut available at www.sc-x2.com for Mac users. it has addressed several issues and that would be my first suggestion. Just go to customer login and once logged in, you can go to downloads to get the latest Mac version. Ken
  9. So you are saving your files in .eps format when importing to SignCut? Also, are there blue dotted lines through your graphic when you go to cut it. Tile lines may cause this (the blue dotted lines). If you could email a copy of the file you are trying to cut, I will try and figure out what is going on. kenimes@uscutter.com
  10. Keep me posted, and I will check the status of your credit as well.

    Interface Problems

If these suggestions do not help, you can email me directly for assistance or to setup a time we can walk through some troubleshooting on the phone. kenimes@usuctter.com
  12. For Flexi, make sure you are using the Roland PNC-1000 driver for your MH721 cutter. And for brayz....which graphics program are you using to create the text? SignCut is strictly a cutting program and the text feature is not meant to be used in place of a graphics program.
  13. I have not heard of this one yet. Make sure you are using the latest version of SignCut....version 2.16. It can be downloaded from our site under Downloads then under Drivers.

Need Help with a New Project

We have also posted some videos of the basics under the FAQ section of the uscutter.com web site.

    Dont know where to start???

I would suggest practicing with paper and the pen attachment. This way you can learn the basics without wasting alot of vinyl. You will use SignCut for the cutting of your projects and a graphics program to create your text, or graphics etc. This forum has several users willing to help when you need it. Feel free to post any questions you may have. Ken
  17. It sounds like SignCut is registered properly. Which program are you using to create your text? SignCut is strictly a cutting program and the text feature in it is not meant to be used to create text for cutting. Create your text in a graphics program, then import the file to SignCut for cutting. Inkscape is a freeware graphics program that you can download from www.inkscape.org Let me know if this helps. Ken

Need Help with my FIRST project.

Did you need help getting the cutter to communicate with your computer, or just basic assistance on how to cut? Ken
  19. When you enter scroll, the cutter should read the width of your material. It then tells you the width on the cutter screen. Hit enter again. Now the cutter should be ready to receive commands from your cutting software. You may also select sheet, if you are loading a sheet of material and not using a whole vinyl roll. Then the cutter will read the width AND the length of your material. Open your file to cut in SignCut. Make sure SignCut is setup for the Copam CP-2500 and told which connection you are using. You should then be able to click on file and then cut out. Ken PS- Welcome to our forums!
  20. Yes the rollers need to be sitting above the metal feed rollers for it to feed properly, the green sections let you know where your feed rollers are. You can set the origin of your cutting blade by using the arrows keys on the cutter itself. If you want it to start a bit more in on your material, just use the arrows to set and then hit "enter" when you got the blade where you want it.

    vinyl drifting

On the MH365 I got sitting here on the desk, I put the pinch rollers about 1 inch in on each side of the vinyl. Beardowns suggestion is a good one as well.
  22. If you are using SignCut, make sure you are not running in "test mode". It will tell you at the top of the program. If so, make sure you register SignCut right away. Which cutter are you using and on which connection? Are you using something other than SingCut to cut? K

    A couple I did today....

    Looking good
  24. Spoke to John on the phone, his carriage is now re-seated and the test cut works perfectly. Am going to speak with him later to finish setting up with SignCut or possibly Flexi so he will be in business. billy, do you have the latest version of SignCut? The scissors should be working...
  25. Also check the carriage. Sometimes during shipping it comes off of its tracks which would cause a bad test cut. There are 2 white wheels behind the carriage that need to be setting on the tracks properly. You can simply push up on the carriage to re-seat if it has popped off. As for the LCD, it sounds as though it is working properly....You should at first see the welcome sign, then it goes to your force and speed settings. Ken
