    Best vectorizing software

I'm just getting started, and the decal work is actually a very small part of my hobby. I'm doing the etched glass and mirror. I researched a little as to what I would need, and it APPEARED that SCAL pro would do what I needed. Bot was I wrong. I'm having to ask for help with a few real hard logos, which I knew I would. But even simple projects are above what I can get inkscape and SCALP to do. What program is best when all you have is a screenshot or camera type photo? All I'm doing is single color for a stencil, no shades or colors, but I will need to be able to keep colors broken apart.

    Ever wondered...

Mine wasn't a career move. It's just a hobby. I actually did a few logos myself to get a friend to cut for me, so it seemed fairly simple. Unfortunately the few I did were easy ones that didn't need a lot of clean up. LOL

    cuttng image multiple times

Or you can copy, then go to edit (I believe it is), and paste to fill. It will also give the option of how far apart.

    Pink Pigs

I use it for breast cancer awareness ribbons. I give them away.
  5. Is the reason the cost is 3X higher because it's a bigger roll and you grommet it yourself?

    Sheet music stand

I'm needing a copy of a sheet music stand clipart. I can't find anything useable to what I need. It needs to be slightly turned to the right. Any help is much appreciated.

    Sheet music stand

This is actually what I'm trying to do. The customer wants it as close as possible. I hand drew the music with SCALP. I'm afraid that when I cut the vinyl I'm gonna have some uneven lines, due to the fact that it's going on a 3 foot wide mirror. I can't get the image to trace with my limited software capabilities. I don't need all the background sheet music, just the stand and scale flowing out of it.

Opinions on Sure Cuts A Lot

I have a project open that is ready to cut. I want to add another image to cut so I take advantage of the full width of my vinyl. I click any of the options for an additional image an a box pops up " would you like to save before..............". When I click my 2nd file top open it, it goes to page two at the top of the mat.

    A couple more mirrors

I've done so many, I can't keep up. Don't know what I'll do when it comes time to farm! LOL

I'm not using SCAL2. In Pro, you import your first project, then import another and it opens it on a new page. I can then copy and paste it to the original page but that is annoying. I want it to load on the existing page.

Opinions on Sure Cuts A Lot

Yeah, I downloaded the trial version of AI CS6 but can't find where to register it. When I click the buy button it takes me to the educational page on the site. LOL I don't qualify as a student or teacher. About the projects, I don't want to switch between them, I want to stick several on the workspace to save cutting time and vinyl.

I'll say this...................... you get what you pay for. Mine is shutting down every time I try a certain function. It started with text on path, now it's doing it every time I try to arc a line. And why does it type backward and upside down on a path? Another thing I don't like is I can't open a second project to the workspace without it deleting the previous. It's nice to be able to open several projects without coping and pasting projects to one page. I've been using it about a month, so I'm sure I'll figure some things out. I can handle the last two complaints, but the shutting down will cause me to chunk it. LOL

    A couple more mirrors

Etched.I think theft reason they're small is I have to email them from my phone, and when I do I send the small image so it goes through quicker. I made this one for a local business.

That's gonna be an awesome etched mirror. Do you mind?

    transfer tape residue

I'm having it on my mirrors that I'm doing Haven't noticed if it's in higher pressure areas, that's something I'll look for. I have to clean for ten minutes and don't always get it all. I'm using clear low rack and medium tack r tape. I'm worried high tack will peel away some of the high detailed areas of vinyl. I've found contact paper from any department store works well for what I do, just definitely not as easy to work with.
  17. What I would like, and it may already be there and I just haven't found it, is a way to color in the wedded or unweeded areas to get a better preview. I use some color imaged that have three or four colors, then do a single color stencil for my etching. At times I would like to see how a single color looks versus the shaded images.

My question is, will the $7.95/mo version be any more powerful than the one where you get 2 free images and can buy more tokens? 25/30 like one poster said is a great percentage. I haven't had NEAR that kind of luck using it.

can I open a SB .eps file with SCAL?

I'm runnin SCALP, I have to convert most eps files to .svg online. There's a free covnerter that you can find with a google search.I haven't noticed any drop in quality either.

    Blade offset! Where to set?

It's under the cut properties page once you click cut.

A couple samples of etched mirros

Fred's, WalMart, flea markets. One thing I've done on a few is go to my local glass shop and have several cut at one time, then go to a hobby shop and get frames. It adds more to the final price, but the customer gets a more unique product.
  24. My SC is louder at times than others. Not sure why. It's not deafening by any means. I can hear the tv from 25 feet away.
