  3. As far as paying someone to do it, I have hired a guy on personally to maintain all my stuff. Its cheaper then constantly paying a freelancer plus hes a great graphic artist. Anyways if you're gonna pay someone I can hook you up with him here is a couple sites he did http://www.usprotectiveservice.com/ http://luxuryextrememotorsports.com/ I dont sell website design through my company but he does freelance work on the side. Shoot me a pm if needed

  5. So, as the market goes the business and looks like I have to get into rhinestones... Anyways so I intend to cut my templates through a Roland Gx-300 and just not sure if the $300 difference for Roland R-ware software is really going to be worthwhile. Pros I see for R-ware >Familar with overall software (currently I used all rolands on cutstudio and illustrator plugin) Im sure rware will have tweaks but the interface looks the same >Created for rolands so I'd imagine less headaches >Inventory and estimating tools Cons >Not 100% sure if the gx-300 will even work with it (software says designed for gx24 but I am waiting to hear back from Roland on that) >$499 instead of $199 >Doesnt seem like many people use it so Idk if I have issues there will be alot of community support. Any SCALP users out there who do rhinestones? Love to hear some feedback on it, also the software in general if I import .eps files can I convert them into stone designs in the softwares? Clean cutting paths? Overall ease of use? Thanks

How many shirts you have on hand?

Slowly built mine as well, started with basic shirts then added specialty in limited colors and now I have about 20 styles each with 8-13 colors in all sizes. Sucks for taxes to have all the money sitting there but its just one hit then you move on.

    Screen Printing info wanted

Pretty experienced Screen Printer here.. Mopar is 100% correct autos are too much machine for most operations. 6x4 is a great starter press- make sure you get a solid machine though, I can speak from expereince here paying the extra couple thousand is very worth it. Make sure it has micro adjustments and can handle larger screens (if you plan on getting into all overprinting) Spend the money on a solid exposure unit as well screen exposure is where at least half of the problems you will have printing come from. Halagen is the way to go imo but Ive heard good things about the new LED units hitting the markets. If you plan on doing any waterbase or discharge printing be sure to get a dryer with at least a 6ft tunnel. Depending on how you do it and how much time you have to seek out used equipment you may be able to get away spending 15-20k on a solid pro entry level set up obviously it can be done significantly less my first set up cost about 2k before I bought a belt dryer which was almost almost 8k itself.

    perforating cuts

Funny i came here for the same exact issue with my GX 24. Mine is definitely getting used about 4-6 hours a day but I bought this brand new last march so I am going to see if I can get it under warranty. Let me know if you have any success I hear my motor making a funny noise when this happens.
  11. Need it fastish, Ill ship you the shirts and since this is a small order I have a nice budget. Please PM me as I do not check this often enough. Thank you

    Heat press vinyl help please

I can get some really fine lines off the shirt but half the time its not worth the time so I just toss the shirt into my "Sleeves to be removed and now is a workout shirt" pile... Its frustrating but youll get really good, or I should say paranoid, to the point you wont do it much after awhile!

    Basketball court in bed room

Nice work, I like it I bet the licensing for NBA stuff wasnt cheap..
  19. Yeh I was gonna add its ok to start slightly below the market average of your area. Lets just say for example someone would charge $5.00 for something, just starting you should charge maybe $4.50-$4.75 for that same thing. NOW that being said you should never just price your items out based on what other people are charging make sure you actually analyze and break down your costs so that you can price things. Now if you did that and realize it costs you $1.20 to make that item dont start charging $3.00 to sweep the market. There's just not a reason to because the more established guys can cut down there prices if they need to most of the time and then everyone loses. But OW you are right you have to charge what your market allows you to charge...

    vintage look

Eh vector masks (like grunges, paint cracks ect) that are great for graphic design would be painstakingly HORRIBLE for vinyl heat transfer. Would take like 5 hours to weed lol that being said if you do something a little on the less crazy end of that it might work
  21. All those suggestions are great, keep in mind that doing work for nothing (CRAZY LOW PRICES) will get you busy but you wont make any money. And on top of that you might think "I'll just raise my prices once my business starts building customers" that doesnt work low price shops attract low quality customers. Trust me there is such a thing as a low quality customer. Just stick to your guns and do good work the word will get out spend a little money on some advertising but just make sure you actually know what your getting into before you do that. Dont spend money on hotel door hangers and then realize all the people staying at the hotel are from out of town...

    Business goodwill, what's it worth?

Huge Dave Ramsey Fan here as well.. Basically OW has the right concept to it just depends it would be 3 times the annual income AFTER you can pay someone to run it though. You dont want to spend three years of income at the chance of owning a job that would be silly. Pretty much what I am saying is if your selling a business that you have to work 60 hours a week in and have zero employees but make 60k a year that business would be worth the market value of the equipment your selling realistically because who says that the guy who buys the business can operate the business like you do and who wants to work 60 hours a week for 60k,... not me. If your business has 4 employees pays you 60k a year to run it and you clear a % of profits at the end of the year as well then that business has a much higher selling value and will attract guys with deep pockets who like to buy business's. Then again the old concept my dad always taught me is its worth as much someone will pay for it lol... those are just some general guidelines to get you in the ballpark.

    Rolland GX-24 or Graphtec CE-6000-60 ?????

I use rolands and I like them, they are reliable and easy to use, they do suck on really fine detail however if you get it all tuned in Roland's do a pretty good job but honestly with how everyone on here raves about their graphtecs you can save a few bucks and get a free stand <- which is worth it.
