Hi, I've been using Eco-film heat transfer vinyl for shirts, sweatshirts, etc. When I ordered it I asked about bleed thru because I plan on doing alot of motocross & other jerseys. I was told it would not be a problem. Well, that isn't the case. I just put a name and number on a customers new fox jersey (the wild one with the yellow/pink/blue/white/black) colors in it. He wanted hot pink so I did it & the colors bled thru so bad you could hardly see the pink vinyl. I tried putting another layer over the top but of course it did not place exactly in spots when I put the press on it. ARGH!!! I'm at a loss & afraid I'm going to have to buy a new jersey for him. Can you please suggest a better vinyl to use? Is there a way to remove the vinyl from the jersey (or other items) ? HELP!!!!! The newbie feels like she fallen in the well!

I had to wipe out my laptop so now I have to re-install my Laserpoint. I remember having issues when I initially set it up, but I wasn't smart enough to do screen prints of everything so I could get all the settings correct. I've tried both the USB cable and the serial adapter (which is what I usually use with it). I have a Windows XP laptop & use sign-cut X2 (which has already been re-installed on the system). I've finally gotten it to talk to my laptop (I think) but it keeps hitting the red stop button on the right. I'm totally stressing out as I use my cutter trackside & have a big event this weekend. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I actually line up my material with the sticker that came on the front of the cutter (cheater, huh?). I've learned the hard way to always zero out before going back on-line, but as soon as I hit cut it still rolls the vinyl backwards and hits the kill switch. Any more ideas out there? Also, is Sign Cut Productivity Pro different from Sign-cut x2? I do all my design in Illustrator and just use sign-cut to send it to the cutter. Anxiety attack coming soon!

US Cutter US Cutter Laserpoint 24 Radio Shack USB to Serial Cable (com 5)

Hello, I just got my replacement cutter as the 1st one I rec'd had several issues and had to be replaced. For whatever reason I cannot get the new one to talk to my computer. I have windows XP, Signcut X2, and laserpoint 24", comnected via serial cable as the last cutter wouldn't work with the usb cable. I've done a test cut on the machine and it seems to work fine, but I can't get anything to cut when sent from the software. I'm at a loss & could really use some help. What do I need to do to get a replacement unit? I've got several orders that need to go out & I can't do them without this machine. Is it possible to have a hold on my credit card so a replacement can be sent out & then be credited when you receive the machine I have now? Please let me know ASAP as this is not a good time for me to be without my cutter!

yes, both are in the locked position. Is it common for these machines to take forever (sometimes more than 5 minutes) to start once the power button is turned on?

The left wheel (if facing the machine) did not feed the paper strip at all. I did have a problem with it bunching up the heat transfer vinyl a few times. I just wrotre it off as user error but it would be in he middle or end of the job. This machine also takes a very long time to start once it's been turned on.

I have a 24" laserpoint. I tried to cut 4' of text on Oracal 651 vinyl and had major problems. The left roller didn't want to feed/roll the vinyl. I tried to line the vinyl up completely on the right side to keep it straight but that didn't work either. I looked at the rollers and they seem to be fine so I'm not sure what the problem is. It seems to work fine with the heat transfer vinyl but is having problems with the thicker vinyl (and longer runs). Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi, Let me start by telling you I'm a newbie to vinyl cutting so I apologize in advance for stupid questions. LP24, WindowsXP, Laptop only w/USB connection. I got my LP24 set up last night & installed SignBlazer Elements which came with it (I got it from e-bay). I currently use Photoshop & Illustrator so this is a whole new program for me to learn. I printed out the 243 page manual that was on the disc, but now that I'm looking at it I don't see that it is even for SB Elements, just the other versions (SB5, SB5 Pro, SB5 Hotshot). Can someone please tell me if any of the directions are the same for SB Elements? I bought the cutter to do t-shirt/jersey lettering (names/numbers) which will often need to be in 2 colors. Is this the best software for me to use or would I be better off buying something else? I really want to get up & running so I can hopefully start making some money with this stuff. THanks!

I just got my LP24 and was trying to set it up. I was going through the paperwork that came in the box and want to know if it is order specific? Can someone please dumb done the order things should be installed/hooked-up? Does the cutter need to be hooked up to a computer before it will show any signs of life? I was following the page as I came to them and even though the cutter is plugged in to the wall and turned on there is no sign of life on the control panel 7 I can't adjust the vinyl. This is my first cutter and I'm completely worried about messing things up (either the cutter or my laptop). I have a windows xp laptop (the only compter I have right now), usb cable, and received singblazer elements with the cutter (but haven't installed it yet). I was hoping to get it set up over the weekend but am afraid I won't be able to get help as I do it. HELP!!! Danielle

I've got a call & e-mail in to tech support. I bought a serial adapter yesterday & was finally able to make a few cuts, although I'm still not exactly sure how I did it! Is there a way to just cut from Illustrator withouth iusing SBE or another program? I want to do jersey lettering in 2 colors. Maybe someone can tell me how to do this in SBE? I'll be home around 3:15 today so maybe I can get ahold of tech support then.

The cutter finally came to life, but it sure takes a long time from turn on to do it! I was able to cut a test square, but cannot get my laptop to send anyhting to be cut. I kept getting an error until I tried a few different ports. Then it finally said it was sending to the cutter, but nothing ever happened. Should I invest in a keyspan to see if not using the USB makes a difference? What are the chances that someone has written up some very basic instructions for us newbies? I have to work tomorrow but should be home around 3ish PST. Can I call to have someone walk me through the set-up/installation process at UScutter? I'm not sure if I should get a different software package to make my life easier or not. What other program works with the laserpoint? Maybe I should change my name to '2 many questions"

Can someone please tell me what the difference is between ordering on the uscutter website or winning an item from them on ebay? I'm looking at the 24" laserpoint. Do they come with software if won on ebay? If so, what software? Thank you!

I want to start doing vinyl heat transfer cutouts on clothing/jerseys/etc. I currently use Illustrator to do my designs. I could use some help on which cutter & software would be best for me. I also have occasion to do contour cutting so would like something that can also do that. I alos print on opaque heat transfer paper that would be nice to contour cut. I'm torn between the MH 25", Laserpoint 24", and the Copam 24". Any input is greatly appreciated.
