  1. I have had the same problem before....It seems to happen when there is alot of Humidity......I just turn it off, and back on again, and it usually works...I also have mine in a room with a carpet, and since I put some pieces of lenolium(Spell?) down where I have to step that has helped too.....Got rid of some of the static......
  2. Other than the "line of Death", I am very pleased with the MH721! It has more than payed for itself, and I really haven't done that many jobs....Glad I went this route....Can't beat the support you get on this site also....
  3. ok, here's what I got.....I got the adapter, couldn't get to work with computer, picked up a Belkin 9 pin to USB.....Fired it up, and I had to cut 16' of vinyl, made it about 8', and it put a line all the way back through what had been cut.....Now I had the enable safe long cuts on, but I think I was using it wrong...It would get done transferring the data for that amount of inches(72), but the cutter wasn't done cutting. I hit the ok button and sent the info on anyways....I think it was sending to much at once, also I had the Baud rate at 9600. I changed the safe cutting length to 48", and also waited until it was done cutting that amount before I hit the OK button.....I changed the Baud to 4800 on both computer, and cutter....Cut out that 16', plus a whole lot more, and haven't had any problems with it cutting across the graphic, it goes back to the side of the vinyl, then down the side when going back to origin.....If anyone is having these problems, I hope this helps some...
  4. Ok...Thanks guys, I got an adapter coming, 5 to 7 business days, I'll let you know.....
  5. ok thanks ken....I'll have to see if I can pick one up tomorrow....Would not having it in A/C be part of the problem?
  6. Don't think I can....Got a Inspiron 9400 notebook, and the cords sent with cutter won't work on it......I am trying to find some now online for it, but no luck yet
  7. I just had the same problem with my cutter with larger, more complex graphics....I changed the baud rate on both to 4800, and made sure the cutter was grounded to the stand, and the problem got better, the cut across wasn't quite as bad, I tried slowing the baud rate down to 2400, I'll keep ya posted....Well that didn't work either.....Kinda does sound like a Memory thing...Also I am using the USB.....

  9. How do you create an outline, and a shadow in Corel X3? I can get a drop shadow to come up, but its not the type of shadow I want. I can also make an outline. What I'm looking to do is basically make a 3 layer graphic to cut out. Its kinda hard to explain........... Any help if you can understand, is appreciated, Matt

All the tips that these guys give on here really save you alot of money in vinyl, but there is some tips that you just have to figure out for yourself too, there are just so many different things to pick up, so many techniques..I have PhotoImpact 4.2, and there isn't half as many things on that as there is in Corel X3(which I just got)....It took me 2 weeks just to figure out how to get 3 layers the way I wanted them with text....So far though, I love every minute of it! lol

Thanks Billy for the compliments! I think alot of people don't have the patience to get on here and read through the different topics...But from what I have experienced so far with the vinyl, and even designing things on the computer, they are in the wrong business if you don't have patience.

I took Computer Graphics in my last 2 years in high school(8 years ago). I just got a cutter last month though....Been wanting to get into vinyl work for a long time, but just didn't have the money, and I guess I just didn't hate my regular job enough to push me into it too...lol Oh yeah, I want to say thanks to all you guys that come on here and help everyone with tips, and troubleshooting! I have been checking it out, and it has helped me alot in figuring things out.
