  1. We don't use those tools with our Graphtecs. I gave you instructions that work. Posted hundreds of times on here. It works for any brand of vinyl cutter.
  2. Biggest problem that new users have is setting the blade depth correctly. Too many incorrect instructions out there saying use a credit card or post it notes. This is 10 times too much blade sticking out of the blade holder. Also blade offset is ZERO on a Graphtec. Make sure you haven't broken the blade tip off, very easy to do. Make sure flange is holding down the blade holder. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade tip out of the blade holder. Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade. When you think the blade is so far in the blade holder, that you think it would not even cut, that is probably correct.
  3. For USB to serial, a Tripplite Keyspan Adapter is the way to go. That is the brand name and the one that works with vinyl cutters...You will need a null modem cable also. Tripp lite connects to USB on computer, then null modem connects to Tripp lite, then other end to you cutter. Tripp lite has it's own driver. Find the best price. Punch out from 2 Curves

Can't you ungroup it? Select all of it, As in arrange>ungroup. Then select the legs.
  5. The vinyl has a 2 year shelf life from manufactured date to be applied. (All vinyl has a shelf life). The vinyl could be old vinyl. There are specs online for all vinyl. The MH may cut it with a couple passes. You can find the user manual for your Summa online. Summa is hands down a much better cutter than the MH as long as it operates correctly. Sold for much more, not hundreds like the MH. Like anything, you would have to look up what a Summa of that age and model is selling for, After checking whether it is operating correctly. Check Ebay or Craigslist. There is a couple Summa owners on here, but probably not your model.
  6. Have you checked this? Google search. (I don't have this cutter) https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5900b1a3c534a5aa8149a65c/t/605bc2508335a61da933f21a/1616626265041/Print%26CutSolutions-CE7000.pdf
  7. Show us what you are cutting. Once you set your blade correctly, you don't have to keep adjusting the blade depth.. Maybe the force a little bit. Add some overcut in your cutting software. I use an exacto knife to make my own weed lines between larger areas. I do a lot of small and detailed work. Run your cutter slow for small pieces. How small is small?

Roland CX300 is listed on Signblazer which is free software, and even though it has not been updated, many still use it. Maybe give it a try.
  10. Maybe someone else will come along. Or contact UScutter tech support tomorrow, We are just volunteers here. If your pinch rollers are too tight, it could cause a strain on the grit rollers. Pressure has nothing to do with that. Pressure is your force of your blade down cutting. Also I would run slow speed until you get this figured out... Your video doesn't show up for me. I am having wifi problems here.
  11. Using the arrows, how is it operating, Smoothly or not? Is vinyl tracking straight? You do have the pinch rollers about an inch , 1.5 "in from the vinyl edge on both sides?
  12. They are not going to just spin freely, but you should have no problem turning them with your hand. They are both connected on the same rod.
  13. With the machine off, turn the grit rollers with your hand, rolling them. There is a belt that goes to the motor, that makes them turn. Also when storing and not in use, , the handle should always keep the pinch rollers off the grit rollers, The pinch rollers can get a flat side to them, leaving them down on the grit rollers.
  14. Are you making sure the pinch rollers are over the grit rollers below? Does that machine have just 1 continuous grit roller or special sections where the grit rollers are? Just use the arrows and see if the grit rollers are moving correctly. Always have enough vinyl prefed and slack, never be pulling from the roll while cutting. I hope you put those pinch rollers back exactly where they were, you shouldn't mess with adjustments to pinch rollers. They are factory set. (Only to move them left or right). With the machine off, check and make sure the set screws in the grit rollers are tight.

    Need Help Importing Files

I found a person using it, (thread) There is no option to export other than Graphtec Studio files, Except PDF. "I have a Graphtec ce-6000. I use the Graphtec studio software. There is NO option to export files to save them in any other format. I dL'd a pdf creator, but when it creates a pdf, its only half of the picture. Does anyone know how to save Graphtec files as a different format? Also, what is plt file?" Another thread "The original Graphtec Studio will only let you save files as .gstudio or .pdf. If you chose .PDF, they will work. However, you will no longer be able to edit text and groupings will be lost. I think it is fairly remiss of Graphtec to not give you a way to convert, export or import .gstudio files after forcing you to switch." Post a file, as long as it is not copyrighted. I think Graphtec Studio files, only can be used on Graphtec Studio software. Just like my Flexi files (FS) are only for Flexi software. See if the Graphtec Studio here works. https://www.graphtecamerica.com/old-software

Anyone know what model this is????

It depends on which model that laser pointer is.. It is either a Creation Pcut with a Laser or it is a Liyu Laser pointer. Flexi should have UScutter as a brand name of cutter. My Flexi is older, but go into production manager, ADD SET UP. See if you can find USCUTTER, as the brand name, Then choose the model. Mine looks like this.
  17. @JustCut, I have purchased 4 Graphtecs 3 new (1) FC7000-MK2-75 (2) CE5000-60 Never had a problem out of any of them, still in use. (1) used FC8000-75, (seller couldn't get it to work right. $1000K free ship. It took me 15 minutes to fix it. Cross cutter blade was engaged. No problems since. OP has already been using a Graphtec Silhouette for "some" years at the University. We have seen those types of cuts, on here, too many times on any brand of vinyl cutter. Not just a Graphtec. When the blade is too long, (extended out of the blade holder) the blade wobbles like a shopping cart wheel and cuts on the side, not the very tip, like it should. Have you tried a little light oil in the blade holder? Like sewing machine, 3-1 etc? Unless I missed it, I don't see where you mentioned the cutting software that you use. I just use bare bones Flexistarter 8.6 with 3 cutters and Graphtec Pro Studio with the FC8000. Your cutter should have came with Graphtec Pro Studio, A GREAT cutting software made by SAI (Flexi) for Windows. Valued over $1000. What are you using? Have you tried another cutting software? If you have had issue after issue, why didn't you get a replacement? What type of vinyl cutting experience did you have before this purchase?

Anyone know what model this is????

It should work on Flexi software. Which version do you plan to use with it? It might still be a paper weight, it you didn't see it operate before buying
  19. US cutter techs still say use 1/2 a credit card or post it notes for setting the blade depth and this is just way too much blade exposed out of the blade holder. Users know more than techs seem to know. I have posted my blade depth instructions on here hundreds and hundreds of times, and it has helped many. many users, who think it takes a lot of blade to cut with, It only takes the very tip of the blade to cut with. The correct combo is less blade more force. You don't know how many times we hear that the blade is set correctly, when in fact it is 10 times too much blade exposed out of the blade holder. That info Is in contributions. Blade Depth. Take your blade holder out of the machine and firmly cut across a scrap piece of vinyl you are cutting, If you are cutting thru vinyl and wax paper backing, you have too much blade exposed out of the blade holder. Pretty easy to try.
  20. Hasn't been on for almost a year. I also never figured out why he was using that brass holder. I use my original holder. I only know of 1 person on here that uses a FC9000. How fast are you running your machine?
  21. If Graphtec can't fix you, I don't know what you are expecting here. We are volunteers here. Hopefully you have enough vinyl pulled from the roll and slack as to not pulling from a roll, while cutting.
  22. It all starts with the TEST feature on the machine. Until they are perfect, you will not get good cuts. You show your cutting photos, but you don't show what your TEST cuts from the machine look like. That must be correct first. Perfect square and triangle. Also stated thousands of times, The blade depth must be correct to the vinyl that you are cutting... I understand there is some kind of tool, but you don't need it. I have a FC also. My cuts are great. Also add some over cut in your cutting software. Run your cutter slower, I never run at a fast pace.
  23. They can purchase 2 of them, (If they want). A heat press if so desire. A printer, Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to spend it all at once.. How about some vinyl? Transfer tape. Put the remaining money in an account,( a rainy day fund ) use for down the road when they think of more items from their imagination that they want..
  24. Seeing as how you have been using a Graphtec Silhouette before, have you looked into the Graphtec Silhouette Cameo Pro? It can cut up to 24"w rolls x 10 ft. L for $479 on sale. https://www.silhouetteamerica.com/featured-product/cameo-pro
