you don't need to change this

All I use is Flexi, you can adjust the .02 go one way and see if it gets worse, then go the other way. make sure your blade is barely showing, out of the blade holder.
-
you can keep adjusting it to get sharp corners. Just do some test cuts using your vinyl cutter on some scrap vinyl.
-
look at the post above. I explained it to you...
-
ok in Flexi 8.5 enter something on your main layout. just a letter will work. > click File> cut. Go to the upper left corner where it says PROPERTIES, and click it. You get default job properties page. At the top click on the picture that looks like a blade go half way down and set your blade offset, it is in inches. Click apply ok.
-
yes, it is probably the offset, but your not even stating what cutting software you are using.. Signblazer? Signcut? Flexi? what?
-
your not giving enough info, so how are your test cuts? are they sharp? Have you adjusted your blade offset so that it is cutting good? Tried slowing your cutter down? less blade? a drop of oil in the blade holder? blade spinning freely? No vinyl in the blade holder? Carriage head wheels firmly in the track?
-
why use the pen to align? I have never aligned the cutter with a pen, because the offset is totally different, a pen offset is 0, a blade offset is approx .25mm use some scrap vinyl and your blade/blade holder. You will get there quicker. Just run the test cuts, that your cutter does, until they look good and sharp.

according to this ad in the UK, they are selling an MH series cutter with a laser pointer on it.(Optical eye) That is what I am going by. Which would be a manual contour cutter, if there is such a real vinyl cutter. -
just follow the instructions Vectorising in Inkscape This walk through explains the basics of vectorising in Inkscape. Step 1) Import your image. Click File>Import, find your file and click OK. Step 2) Select the image, go to the top of the screen, click Path>Trace Bitmap. Step 3) The Trace Bitmap menu will then open. Here you can select how you want your image vectorised and adjust the settings. You can also generate a preview. Once you are happy with the preview click OK and close the Trace Bitmap screen. Step 4) Now you will have your new vector image and the old raster (bitmap, jpeg, gif etc) image stacked on top of each other. Seperate the two and delete the raster. Step 5) Play around with your new vector image!

you can find Calvin in brands of the world to make your own version.

the laser pointer on UScutter is manual also. You actually jog the cutter to each registration mark, then record each mark in the cutting software. An auto contour cutter is a much more expensive vinyl cutter, such as a Graphtec,or Roland, -
that post is from 2007, and they haven't been on for a very long time

Signblazer has not been updated for several years as the owner passed away. So it is a permanent trial. You have to use older version files to import into Signblazer. such as a version 8 .eps. If you want, post your file and maybe someone can see if there is a problem with it. Are you sure it is an .eps file and there is not bitmap left in it?
-
you are not stating what software you are using to vectorize with, but in order for Signblazer to import an image, it has to be an older version file like version 8 .eps . You should be importing your file, NOT open. I stand corrected, You are using Vector Magic in the title LOL

Well, don't tell Larry.. LOL I asked because I wanted to make some decals to sell on EBAY. Her answer changed my mind.
-
look at their printer prices. If that was real, we could ALL own a printer
-
you might want to check prices again. They are way less than 1/2 price all over the site. this 30" Graphtec is new here for $1457 http://www.megaprinteronline.com/products/Graphtec-FC8000%252d75-Cutting-Plotters.html http://www.uscutter.com/Graphtec-FC8000-Series-Vinyl-Cutters_p_216.html $4195

In case you didn't know Git-R-Done is a copyrighted phrase. I asked the question directly a few years ago. I still have the email, hope nobody says anything.... Hi Carolyn, Larry forwarded me your letter. Yes, that famous phrase is copywritten. Thanks, Adrian Stumpf Git-R-Done Productions
