mimaki cg60ex - flexi 10 starter - help with contour cutting
MZ SKEETER replied to derrick1217's topic in Flexi
either use the instructions for Flexistarter 10 contour cutting. OR use the instructions for the Mimiaki vinyl cutter, if it is a contour cutting machine, but you can't use BOTH together, they are separate instructions. You don't use an EYE or mark detector with Flexistarter10contour cutting. . . The point it measures is from the middle of the blade. Using Flexistarter you must jog the cutter head and record the distance of the blade in the Flexi software, for each registration mark . You do not use any type of printed cutting lines. Only registration marks. -
You more than likely could have gotten it cheaper with UScutter. and only $9.00 shipping each in it's own box, on a 3" core.

I have to disagree with you Mike on making a living out of it. I worked 30 years at a factory, that closed and went south to Mexico, and at the age of 56, and with no graphic design knowledge, and never even owned Illustrator or used it, or even knew what a vinyl cutter was. I started my own online business in 2006 . I have been a Powerseller and also since they started, Top Rated seller on EBAY, and make a very good living out of it. It's like any job, if your not going to apply yourself, then FIRE yourself. It's not for you. People address challenges differently. I love a challenge. Bring it on. Some fail, some achieve. How bad to you want it?? I wanted it to support me. and it has, very nicely, but I built my own business, not somebody doing it for me. And I still work at building it everyday...5 years later.

there is no guarantee that bundle will be available in March. Or even next week. Is it worth buying the bundle? Go price check others selling the Graphtec, and see what the price of the cutter alone is.. You can find the prices everywhere... Look at the prices for the stuff with the bundle. Add it up... After that... is it worth it to you??? It all depends on what you are wanting it for. and going to use it for... others may have no need for the extras, may already have them,,
-
Yes probably so, they are usually buying 50 yrd rolls which is cheaper, and selling off by the feet. or 10 yrds. etc. those 3" cores are heavy, and weigh more than the vinyl, so they are not going to ship it on a 3" core. They ship as cheap as they can.

If it's Oracal, it says it's Oracal on the backing. It will say Oracal 651 all over the backing and also have a grid pattern on it.

are you deleting the original file, then saving the vector as an .eps after you vector it?

@Roger.. Mr300s was using a Graphtec CE5000-60 for his detailed work... The pictures were designs cut with his Graphtec. He has never owned a Copam. He had a Pcut and upgraded to the Graphtec.

Upgrade Memory on Laserpoint 36
MZ SKEETER replied to Camel's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I used to run out of memory on my Seiki vinyl cutter, by running the speed to slow on very detailed jobs. I cranked it wide open and it would finish it every time. and the design was my Wizard, which I have shown on here several times. That decal is 77" x 20" and very detailed. I just turned the speed all the way up, then when I got 1 side done. I turned off the vinyl cutter, and then turn it back on, to do the other side. That worked for me. And it still cut really good on the Seiki at a high speed. -
try it on a different computer. or Turn the speed up on the vinyl cutter so it doesn't time out. Make sure all screensavers and power savers are turned off. I run all my Flexistarter's on packet size1000 kb...for over 5 years. Resolution changes the steps, the sizes will no longer be accurate. (I made that mistake once). I also only run at medium curve quality.. Turn off all weed lines. Takes up too much memory. Have never seen an upgrade on memory in the Pcuts. Make sure the material width x length is bigger than the design. I keep my vinyl length 1968" Make sure you have the design rotated correctly in the workspace.

sure you can cut them. That's what most people do. I've used a miter saw, and a hack saw.
-
awesome deal, I'm sure, you will be very happy with it..

sorry to hijack the thread, @livinloudgraphics What kind of table is your vinyl cutter sitting on in that picture, with the chrome vinyl? Is that a resin type table?? The kind you can purchase most anywhere at big box stores? That's what it looks like to me. If so,,, it is full of static. I have one also, and just by running a towel across it, static will crack and pop like crazy. Your vinyl cutter needs to be on something that is static free, like on top a wooden bookcase, or a wooden table. etc.,if you don't have a real stand for it. Not sitting on a resin table. That would be the cause of not being able to cut and freezing, and your vinyl running across the resin table is creating even more static.

I don't know what your reading, but that is not what I'm reading. They are selling vinyl lettering decals. In any color you want on the ad. You choose the font. on this ad 1.5" H.. They are not selling the fonts.. Only vinyl lettering that you want made up to say some thing. Decals that are text only.. your choice of font, vinyl and color... they sell very well. VERY LEGAL. and a custom order...
