You should have bought the plotter! I have worked on the vinyle express plotters and they are a well built unit. They operate very quietly and they track very nice. The only issues that I have seen were basic general maint that I have been called on. Well worth the $500 !

Wow you are asking about a roland plotter on the uscutter forum, what do you think the answer was going to be LOL.... Um let me guess, yep the uscutter. I personaly will say the roland brand would be the best bet. Remember you always get what you pay for which reflects on your projects outcome. Good Luck !

A easy way to weed small images is to lay the app on the entire unweeded image, squeegee it down, peel the app back and weed the image as it is stuck to the app. I hope this helps out

A crowded biker bar ?

Through time everyone learns from there mistakes and sometimes these mistakes cost you an arm and a leg so I have some helpful maint. that everyone shoud perform atleast twice a week! For those of you that already know how to maintain the health of there plotters please bare with me! I will start with the blade.... Your blade should be cleaned every day making sure that it is free of the sticky funk that builds up from cutting. Whipe the blade down with Orange Peel to make sure the funk is removed from each side of your blade. Adjust your blade holder so you can hardly feel the blade when you run the tip of your finger acrost the tip of the blade holder. This will keep you from killing your cutting strip that the blade follows during operation. Next the pinch rolers..... When not in use the pinch rollers should not be in locking position holding the vinyl for long periods of time. Keeping them down when not in use will cause them to develope flat spots which will cause your media to slip during operation. Clean your pinch wheels every morning with Acidtone yes I said Acidtone, this product will remove all adhesives from your pinch wheels with out leaving any oil or soaking. Next the Drive Rollers..... Make sure there is no objects stuck to these drives, if you have any object stuck to these drives then you can remove it with a dental tool or pick. Leaving objects clung to these Rollers will affect the tracking of your media just as a flat spot on the pinch rollers does. Next the Cutting Strip... Inspect the cutt stip before and after plotter cutts any media. If the cutting stip has alot of blade marks in it then this strip will ned to be replaced and your blade holder needs adjustment. ( retract blade) Clean the area with Orange Peel to remove any adhesive or grime that builds up from the vinyl backing draging over the area. Tac Rag the entire unit to keep dust from building up and inspect your plotters daily checking for any obstructions that may shorten the life of your unit. Last but not least....! Before every cutting session perform a test cut to make sure your blade deph is correct. Your cut strip is designed to keep your media true to the blade and it protects your machine from incorrect blade deph situations. It is not ment to be cut up during operation.. Hope this helps keep your plotter from visiting companies like us, plotter repair is not cheap!! Boe Xpress Signs & Graphics

We have had this policy from day one and have had no problems nor loss. You realy have to think about it like this, if a customer really wants the product then they will have no problem paying in full before any vinyl is used. If they have a problem paying in full up front then they may not be a customer that you want to have relations with in the first place. 90 % of a sign shops customers are business owners in the first place and I am sure they understand the reasons for paying up front . If you are thinking about making your customers pay in full before anything is cut then I would say go for it. I have not lost a customer yet due to making them pay in full.

I will make this short and sweet for you all! I recieved my router about a month ago and have been learning the software and the Router itself. At first I was very excited and could not wait to get my hands on my new toy !!! Now I am on the underside of that want. I have been producing a few boards here and there but I am not up to speed on the program! I am a noob all over again and I am enjoying the learning process but the down side is that I am not making any money off of the machine while I am learning. K so here we go. Likes ! 1. Its cool to look at and say I have ! Dislikes 1.The bed of the machine is very large and requires alot of space to opporate 2.The machine is very loud and can be herd thoughout the shop and into the store front. 3.Even with the vac system it produces very very fine dust which has been finding its way into some of our installations. This dust will find its way throughout your shop no matter what you try. 4.The instructions are very poor and misleading. 5.The machine takes forever to begin a job and finish a job. 6.The demand for routered signs is very low. I do not see anything wrong with running someone elses vinyl in a plotter. It is no different then running vinyl that a customer is paying for ! All of you that are engraving need to realize that you materials are alot more expensive and some being priceless to a customer vs. vinyl under 95 cents an inch. I would charge my normal labor rates plus machine use nothing more nothing less. If you have to perform the set up then those charges would apply as well. If you would be worried about vinyl waste due to an error of any sort then I would work an agreement out with the person so you are not at fault nor able to be collected on it things go wrong with the vinyl.

LOL nice! I was thinking more of the lines of busting out my Iphone call n an old mule by the name of BannerJohn and telling him to get his old broke down A** over here and carry it out side for me! Then again I know that you are a US Cutter Company man and would not be able to touch quality machine such as this with your sticky donut fingers. So when I see you in your US Cutter Golf Cart skiping down the road I will keep in mind that it is not a personal thing it is a Company thing. LOL I would send ya a check for the advice but the check would cost more to wright then the value of the advice JUST PLAY N dont take personal I had to hit ya back!

Thank you very much for your advice on programs! I am using Gerber ArtPath which is the program that is included with the purchase of Gerber Routers. It has taken me a few weeks to use the program to the fullest and I will admit that I still have to reference the book here and there during use but all is well for the time being. My main issue with the router is the noise and the dust that it produces. I did not expect to have to build an addition to my shop for the router but that is my fault for thinking !

I would say that this is due to the force ( torque of your hand position ) during your manul spin. You need to check your plotter with a level . Your plotter should come with locking collars which keep your roll in place ! USE Them...... Also when you load your roll you should place your roll between your rollers feeding your vinyl between the two as you pull it over the top of the roll and into the machine. This keeps the roll in place as the machine feeds off of the roll.

I would not even attempt running magnetic materials threw any plotter. 1. The material sticks to any metal surface 2. It is way to heavy to pull threw a plotter 3. I can and will damage your plotter head which will cost you more to fix then to replace the plotter 4. You do not want damage any sensative areas of your plotter due to magnetic pull which can erase certain components. Take our advice and do not listen to the idealistic noobs! We have allready made the mistakes they have yet to encounter. Take your time and be patient with the exacto knife!!!!!!!

Fat Dad I do not believe that the problem is in the PC! It sounds like it is more of a plotter issure that has created a comunication error or the plotters usb input has went bad. This happens time to time with plotters. I would look to see how your fuses are doing in the plotter and blow out the USB input on your plotter, then try a shielded usb cable. Keep us informed with this situation!!

Mine came to me when swamp gas exploded from the nothern hemosphere, reflecting from the glare off of a bald mans head which burned my eyes as I was bitten by a foreign spyder which gave me spider like strengths which I taught to Arnold during his training day at golds gym on a Tuesday during the holocost of the carets on harvest day last year after candle wax fell apon a termite who was chok n on a splinter smaked his head off of tolet paper that was on a role then tomato started to ketchup with me I seen daisy freakn with goofy as Mickey told me to call myself one Graphic System. And that is my story which I am sticking to !

Charlie Charlie Charlie, its not about the money !! It is how cute they are JK I can see your stance on this matter and I agree with you on several levels. I only help those who are using my designs as a leaning experience or adding to the designs with there own creativity. Those who become lazy repeat wana be's cut there own throats. This does not mean not to ask for my help it just means that if im running your business then you might as well franchise threw me! I think USCutter owes us each about $250,000.00 for all of the advice and boasting of there products. Ill take my payment in uro please Great Post Charlie..

Paul, I do not live near you nor do I own a plotter from US Cutter. I have seen them in action and can give you my opinion on the product. I believe these plotters are #1 for there price and quality, they will hold there own against higher brand plotters and sometimes out perform them in certain areas. I sell a higher brand name and really do not see a difference in the product they produce. I will say that if you are thinking about purchasing a plotter, you hve came to the right place...... BUY IT you will LOVE IT !

K, I will not make a huge issue about this topic nor burn bridges here. If im missing something here then I guess I will leave it at that. Maybe I am just having one of those weeks who knows, I will drop it from here and forget about it.
