Some tuning issues with my ce5000-120
Dakotagrafx replied to jeremySI's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
only thing that comes to mind is the blade holder goes under the metal clip to keep it from rising. once I didn't get the clip over the ridge on the holder and had a problem like that. did you download plotter controller - so you can change the pressure and other settings on the computer instead of going thru all the settings on the cutter?? http://www.graphtecamerica.com/support/ -
Yup had a copam and it was a very solid machine -

I had never seen the 30" = that is an unusual size. they have a 42" that is a little more that you are looking to spend. you would have to drop back to a refine to get in your price range. I had a 50" cutter for a year and only used it for things over 24" twice - so I sold it and bought 24" machines since then. you might keep an eye on craigslist but then you are buying used and have to watch what you buy!

Just place a star or simular item in the top 2 corners and copy and past the same thing in the exact same location for each color -

Try cutting one at a time - could be running out of memory in the cutter. -

Just a reminder to make sure you have a backup of your important files BEFORE you have a computer crash. Another thread brought this to mind again and I just wanted to add a public service announcement again. After a crash it is easy to get people to purchase the external hard drive for backup that is often put off as too expensive before the crash occurs. the time to do it is before you loose those precious family photos or other files. Cheap insurance

And don't forget to have a backup of all important docs - I recommend that everyone get a external hard drive to back up all important documents BEFORE a hard drive crash. I cannot begin to tell you how many people I work with have not thought to back up their digital photos, or other important documents until after it was too late. sometime we can retrieve the info from a corrupted drive but there have been many time we haven't been able too. At that point the external hard drive seems pretty cheap to them. for the vectors it is easy to burn a few DVD's for back up also -
