Zencut Black... video and A++ recomendation!
Dakotagrafx replied to Genkboy's topic in ZenCut Cutting Plotter Discussion
nice review - Thanks for taking the time -
The p-cut is a great starter machine - any of the lower end cutters take much more setup to get clean cuts than say the graphtecs or rolands. You can start with the p-cut and when it makes you enough money then move up to a better cutter. stick with the oracal vinyls for consistent good materials. the old mac will do fine as these machines are not that computer intensive. I do like having a dedicated cutting computer and have used old windows machines in the beginnings fine. this place is a great place to learn and taking the time go go thru the new bie manual under instructional material is a great place to start. Welcome aboard from Michigan

Cutting Strip that fits
Dakotagrafx replied to tomb321's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Wow - how much too narrow is it? the graphtecs use a butyl adhesive to hold theirs down -
there is a posting somewhere on this forum for contouring with a p-cut or refine - same process - they use a pen tool to line up the registration marks. i am not familiar with the process but hopefully someone will chime in

LOOKING TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER ANY SUGGESTIONS
Dakotagrafx replied to ANYTIME SIGNS's topic in General discussion
I have recommended Dell and HP in the past but at this point I believe a custom build beats em all just because you can get the serial port on the mb, dell uses a proprietary Motherboard that if it fails you cannot place another mB in their case (it is mirror imaged from everything else on the market) . . .at some point something will fail and need repaired -

+1 on the dedicated desktop with xp for the cutter

usually it is not a problem - witht he usb sometimes it is just a matter of having the cutter on when you start signblazer

Rob - not sure what happened but at one point I went back to shop more after checking shipping and my cart emptied - next time it seemed ok. the one thing that would be great is if after you enter your zip it would keep your zip remembered and show the shipping automatically as you add and delete items instead of entering your zip each time.
