Holy crap thats cool.. I want one!
-
Right on.. thanks guys.

Thanks for the input guys. So, if this thing didn't heat evenly, one would assume there are parts to fix that?
-
Wow.. you make the whole thing sound so easy. But, I am sure I could pull something like that as well. I just wish I had a shop....

Is this a decent heat press? I have a chance to buy one for about $100.. any insight would be most appreciated, thanks!

So, the 2" frame holds the dibond in and perfectly flush to the plywood? You didnt screw the dibond down in any areas? I know nothing about how rigid dibond is. I was hoping in my sign business I was starting that I would not get requests for outdoors signs like this. Oops, guess I do need to learn! So back to the church sign, did you mount the plywood to the wall, then put the dibond up in the frame to give it a clean look? What type of primer and paint did you use? Is the dibond blue or did you paint that as well? I am sorry for all the questions, I am merely curious Dan. I hope you dont mind dude!

Wow, that sounds stupidly easy, but I bet you have been doing this for years huh!

Hey Dan, what kind of substrate do you use? I have a guy that wants a sign done for his warehouse in about a 5' x 30" sign. His building has the ridges and bumps on the walls, so I suggested a backing substrate to the vinyl. I am green, so I am curious as to what would be best.

Did I miss finding this somewhere? Or is this not available? Or am I an idiot? If we buy and sell from one another, shouldnt we have this option?
-
I could.. but .. I don't want too.. lol

Wow! Thank you all for being so helpful. I have tried to help contribute by sharing graphics and doing what I can. I obviously am not as advanced as any of you or as gifted as you. No I am a stay at home mom who is trying to help her family by working on small projects in her basement at night. I didn't realize this was such a huge ordeal and I do apologize. I thought for someone experienced they could put it in a vectorizing program and it would take them a few minutes...so again I am sorry for asking for help. I didn't see or hear anyone helping to teach me I just saw a lot of meanness. Thank you for your tips and I'm sorry for corrupting your board.... Have a wonderful night....Trust me.. this is how I feel some days! I think that they all have their 'click' and newbies need to be hazed or something to allow us in!

Yes I have. I have also tried the same file (and several other files) on three other computers at my shop with the same result. I have tried Windows XP, 7, and 8. No luck.3 computers with the same results = an issue with the cutter...

I dont know in Flexi, but in VMP that I use you have to convert to curves, then combine, then they can be joined using the node editor.

If you poke around here on the forums, there are a few guys that have built their own with success using a large electric griddle that you can pick up at walmart for under 30$...
Thats crazy talk!

Probably would be a good idea to have a legal document signed and notarized outlining your arrangement...

I was perusing a vector library, and I found a star in a box that looked pretty identical to the one I used. So if anything, I could almost just say that was clipart.. lol
