Good job on the layering.. what kinda chrome is that? I haven't tried the clean cut blades but everyone seems to rave about them
-
Haha I had this same problem when I was making some decals for work (500 1x8 decals)… I was just a newb so I set everything up, started the cut and went in my bedroom to watch some hockey.. During intermission I went and checked on the cutting progress and my entire roll of 48" x 50 YARDS of vinyl was unrolled on the floor. Never again have I ran my vinyl with the rod through the middle! From then on my vinyl is always on top of the two rollers

looks good!

yea i got the email about the titan today and checked it out.. was thinking the same thing, i'd rather spend a little extra on a graphtec
-
Yea I would make a trip with the replacement in hand and explain that it's not up to your standards and you would like to redo it for her.. If I were the customer I surely would appreciate the gesture
-
on my TC cutter I usually load my vinyl about an inch or so past the blade holder.. there is a little lip where the vinyl tends to hit and get caught up otherwise.. i start my rolls to the right side, but it doesn't really matter where you put your roll as long as it's under the rollers fairly evenly and you set your origin point. do some browsing on the forum, there's a ton of great info

i use my macbook pro running osx 10.7.5, TC cutter running off SCALP, illustrator cs5 and cs6

Anyone ever use this tool for removal?
constricted replied to motoxchic's topic in General discussion
I just bought one of the smooth 3m wheels to remove the pinstripe on my car and saw this while shipping around.. It just looked like something that would murder my clear coat so I opted for the smooth wheel lol -
a little constructive criticism : the 'horseless carriage' and 'fort lauderdale' font seems a little too bold, its also the wrong font.. the G, R and S don't match the original.. the red banner going through the center could be cleaned up a little bit.. (little jagged in the center where its curving.. use less nodes for cleaner lines) also the yellow outline on the red banner isn't a uniform thickness like the original… and the zero and L in '1901 OLDS' are slightly off (they either need to be rotated a degree or two clockwise or they need to be skewed a little bit) yea i think i have a little case of OCD

Ebay sales are weird for me also.. I can go 2-3 days without an order and then get 10 orders in a day.. I have about 5 decals that I sell more often than everything else and I'm not really sure why this is, lol. Sales stay pretty much the same year round, but I sell slightly more in the warmer months. Could you guys post links to your ebay stores? I would love to check them out!

i would try to use illustrator for that.. i hate node editing in any other program

Trying to find none cares about your stick figure family vector
constricted replied to constricted's topic in Graphic Requests
Yea I tried vectorized the image with illustrator but I kept getting a result similar to Dawn's that needed lots of clean up work. I'm no newbie to design I just don't have the time right now to clean it up. Thank you so very much Blues, exactly what I was looking for! You da man! -
"Nobody cares about your family" decal design anyone?
constricted replied to xJoey Dubsx's topic in Graphic Requests
anyone have the jason design? -
looks like its creating paths for the solid part of the image as well as the shading on the image.. i don't use inkscape, but what you want to do is merge the paths. also after looking at your cuts, your also going to want to play with the nodes so the outline isn't as jagged because of the pixelation around the edges on the image you are converting.

yea i've tried designing on my 32", 42" and 47" led tvs and it's just too big.. personally, i'd stick with something around 30" or less

i believe what you need to do is pre feed your vinyl. so if your making a 40 inch long decal, you need to put your vinyl in the machine, then run 40 inches through the machine and see if the vinyl is tracking straight. if not, then re-align the vinyl and try again. repeat this process until the vinyl is tracking straight and your all set. here is a great video that will help you. the pre feeding method i'm talking about is explained at 3:35 - 4:10 in the video
-
here is a pretty good video with some tips on feeding your vinyl.. i always pre-feed to make sure tracking is good.

MH721 Cutting Problem. Any Help Greatly Appreciated
constricted replied to Mr_Wilson's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
I was going to say the same thing as egobuster1... check the files you're cutting and make sure there aren't duplicate layers being cut -
New Washing Machine for the Princess
constricted replied to louis clarke ii's topic in Show your work
Haha that's pretty funny .. I noticed a small grammar error though, "You do a outstanding job" should be "You do an outstanding job" -
all of my constructive criticism : i dont know about you but the word " graphix's " doesn't look or sound right at all to me when reading this, lol.. it's making a word that's already plural a plural, just doesnt work lol i would probably lose the "minneapolis" text in the city silhouette , its kinda pointless and it just clutters the design. I think it would read better "Screen Printed T-Shirts" instead of "Screen Printing T-Shirts" also agree with jay, noone outside this industry knows what dye sub is..
-
thats a real cool design
-
looks much better with the text white and centered!
-
cool clock, but i do agree the name would've looked better centered (we won't tell the wife though) lol
-
cool idea.. just a few pieces of constructive criticism : 'Will You' not being in line with 'Marry Me?' makes reading it a little odd.. and the space after the Y in 'I love Y ou' also looks kinda funky.. how big is that banner??

I havent tried cutting magnets yet but I was thinking that going slow and making a second pass might work like dakota said
