sounds like you have one heavy load to deal with right now. when those moments hit i research something i'm interested in or look up new ways to do something. it sparks my brain and puts me in a positive mood. good luck finding your vinyl.

I have a customer wanting taz decal on a few items. Canvas - (htv) and window. I am not going to shoot myself in the foot and cut a copywritten image so I'm looking for a company that owns rights that I can order these from. Anyone currently use a supplier for these images?

welcome. get ready, if you have an addictive personality like a lot of us seem to have, you are in for a great ride.

What are most popular or requested script fonts? I want to create a set list / wall sign for the shop. I just have too many fonts to dig through every time a customer wants to sit down. I'll post an eps file of the ideas that we can all use.

customer came in today and said his last truck had vinyl applied straight to the door and they waxed over it after? i am not a newbie, but not a 50 year vet either so this threw me a little. i've had requests for laminate, but never wax. any ideas?

i've never heard of using black wax as a clear. crazy.

agree with jaybird.

i apply dry and spray the tape to release from the vinyl, give it a min to soak and crinkle, easy release - no bubbles.

Vinyl Business or Keep My Day Job
npace replied to Marie925's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I started with ACAD and GIS too, state job. Self taught on the other graphic programs, both mac and pc. It is doable to support your family in this industry. I've raised 4 children on my own (until 3 years ago) on my business. Started out home based, now retail with a chunk of space dedicated just for game/tv/computer room for the younger children- the older ones work for us. Just keep an open mind to changing trends, keep your customer service top notch, don't try and be the lowest price around and you will do great. And if an architect walks in needing signs, let him know that you are a whiz on ACAD should he/she find himself backed up on shop drawings. Another stream of income. -
snagged a copy too, thanks!

download inkscape, import the picture, use command "trace bitmap" there are members on here that offer vectorizing as a service that are very skilled.

point their domain to your website.

thanks skarekrow! I just got a call for a retiring bus driver order. perfect timing!

i thought i stripped all of that out, sorry. it was a link in their email. if you look on their site, that is the suggested retail price and what i charge the customer. they will send you a sample kit too if you request one. i can't remember if i gave them my shipper number or not, but the kit was free.

"trade net publishing" is the company. not sure why the link is not working.
-
i use tradenetonline.com for those.

I don't have anything that long at the moment or i'd offer it to you but as an FYI - A few of us that sell RTA keep our backing paper from big jobs just for this reason.

sounds like that goes for the court system too.
