The whole set of pictures is available here - I'm a big fan of religious freedom and free speech, but screw the Westboro Baptist Church... http://u4770p2799.ilykefunny.com/15-times-the-westboro-baptist-church-got-perfectly-trolled/66913/?pid=0

    Squeegee Alternatives??

3M makes a table mounted pneumatic roller. When I worked at the city streets department, the signage group had one mounted on their bench. They would feed the edge of the weeded vinyl and tape under one side, turn on the air pressure and flip a switch and it would be pulled under the roller and come out perfectly smooth on the other side. I have no idea what it's called - but I remember when they were preparing the budget for this year, they wanted to replace it and had $18,000 in the budget...

    Light color with conde patches.

The few that I've done, I didn't extend the design out over the stitching - I kept it within the flat area inside. I just rewatched the Conde video on patches and she says to use extra-heavy pressure to help flatten it out, but the design she presses shows the same white line after pressing...

    Lamination over cut decals

I think Mz SKEETER nailed it. Every vinyl has a recommended use and a life expectancy rating. A lot of specialty vinyls - especially cheap specialty vinyls - have very short life expectancy when exposed to UV and the elements. Adding a UV resistant laminate will help - some - but it will also lead to thicker, heavier decals. Some specialty vinyls, like fluorescent colors for example, actually require UV in order to generate their apparent bright colors - blocking off the UV may block or reduce the appearance of whatever look you're going for. I would strongly recommend that you upgrade to higher quality, name brand vinyls. I have some Schein chrome film that has been on my truck for nearly 2 years and it's still bright and shiny.

    printing restaurant glass?

Sublimation only sticks to polyester, so any surface with an appropriate polyester coating will take sublimation, assuming it can withstand the 400° F sublimation temps. It has to be held against the surface with a great deal of pressure to prevent outgassing of the dye, so you would need a heat wrap for every glass you try and do at once - 10 wraps = 10 glasses at a time. If you're looking for something that will actually stand up to restaurant use (meaning multiple washings on a daily basis and being handled by hundreds of random strangers), then I don't think sublimation is the answer you're looking for, as it isn't meant to hold up to those kinds of use. I don't know of any water slide transfers that will stand up to that kind of use and abuse - not saying they don't exist, it's just not something I've ever gone looking for...

    Generic Ricoh Ink?

Someone on one of the Facebook groups said they ordered some generic sublimation ink for a Ricoh printer from China. Only $135 for a set of cartridges, vs. $325 for a set of OEM originals... Anyone ever heard of anyone trying these to know if they work? http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6743353801.html?orderId=67855382494892

    Generic Ricoh Ink?

The person who said they ordered it - got it -and posted a picture of their results She didn't make the transfer wide enough for the ribbon, but I think it looks pretty good otherwise.

    Sublimation Patches Conde ?

My sister wanted a specific hat for a redneck-themed Christmas party. Rather than consult with me first, she bought the type of hat she wanted at a thrift store and cut away the threads holding the existing patch on and then brought it to me for decoration. With the puckering and holes from where the patch had been, I couldn't use HTV as I planned, so I printed a design onto one of Conde's rectangular patches and then pressed it on the hat. It was just barely big enough to cover the holes from the patch she removed, but it worked - and she still occasionally wears the hat when she's working outside.
  14. It looks like all the pins in the socket are on one side (the back in this photo) and if so, if one side of the cable has exposed contacts, that will be the side that needs to go towards the pins...

    Avoid clipartandfonts.com

Thank you for stating your opinion. Many of us have bought their packages and are quite happy with them. They offer numerous free download packages that let you try before you buy, so there is no reason to be surprised. My biggest issues with them are the inclusion of hundreds of copyrighted/trademarked images/logos without an explanation that clearly states "YOU CAN'T LEGALLY CUT AND SELL THESE DESIGNS!", and the immense amount of duplication between groups. My other complaint is their PDF catalogs use tiny thumbnail images that remind me of the old 1980's Print Shop software - you can't hardly tell what each individual design is - thankfully I have Adobe Bridge to let me preview my vector artwork and produce printed catalogs with images bigger than postage stamps... I have not had ANY issues with not being able to successfully cut any of their designs that I tried. I still continue to encourage people in need of a lot of clip art for little money to buy their products.
  16. I know a lot of people have looked for various ways to display decals in their retail location, or at flea markets, and I just watched this video on what seems like an easy way to display decals that will catch people's eyes...

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

If you set your default printer settings from Control Panel, rather than in the software you're using, it should keep your settings from print job to print job. I have all of my printers configured that way, so I only need to adjust orientation and page size when I print, or change the color profile on the sublimation printer as needed.

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

You can buy separate kits and add them to your own printer. They include a DVD with a complete walk-thru of instructions, but he goes pretty quick and it's possible to miss a step. On my second one, for the 7520, the video skipped the step about how high the tanks needed to be, and I knew they needed a specific height from doing the install on the 1400, so I called and got an answer immediately.

    Teflon Cover?

I bought a 3 pack of teflon sheets the right size from ebay for around $11 - the price has gone up slightly since then (now $11.50) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Pack-Teflon-Sheet-For-16x20-Heat-Press-Transfer-Sheet-SUPER-SALE-LIMITED-TIME-/161542175636?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259ca9fb94 This is not a wrap, just sheets, but mine stays on pretty well as most items will just slide right off of it. For that much of a savings, I'm willing to have to re-align it every once in a while...
