Howdy. The safety decals probably will be worthwhile to do with 3M reflective vinyl. Just be aware that it's much thicker than regular vinyl, and you'll have to adjust the pressure and/or the blade depth.

Look, this is NOT the "do my work for me" Forum. There is a specific forum dedicated to this type of request, it is called the Vectorizing section. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/forum/35-vectorizing/ Also, why are you taking on work like this, if you aren't qualified to deal with it? This is something that the sign store YOU WORK FOR should be handling.

Did you skip over my very important posting in your thread that you began after you obtained that job? http://forum.uscutte...post__p__279577 -
how do i apply double layers of vinyl?
slice&dice replied to SurberSigns's topic in General discussion
I looked at those youtube search results and honestly, they aren't that useful from a strictly "instructional" viewpoint. It's strange to see this type of request here from flaboy, since he is employed at a sign shop, and could just ask the graphic designer at his workplace how to go about it. -
Have to ask ---- what did you do to get it? Please share. P.S.- Is that YOUR 'vette?

Search for "registration marks" and you'll be headed in the right direction. -
MH 871 Problems
slice&dice replied to sluggo2u's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
I absolutely wish that my camera could take such clear close-up macro pix. My MH871 is sitting in a corner of my studio ever since I broke the USB connector plug. (I've since swapped in a new port board, and it's back to full working condition, but I'm now running the SC machine I bought as a replacement machine, and the MH is no longer my primary) Poor baby, unused and unloved. -
Looking to upgrade my MH Series 871... thoughts?
slice&dice replied to NictimInvestmentGroup's topic in Pre-sale questions
What you want now is a PRINTER. Not another vinyl cutter. When you say you're trying return your machine to life by looking into the problem and possible resolutions, I assume that includes talking to the US CUTTER support staff? $80 and you've got a new motherboard. They do fail now & then (especially if your cutter isn't grounded to the stand) -
Picking a business name?

Everyone is welcome to take a look at this interesting article, it describes the changes being implemented regarding Internet top-level domains http://www.sltrib.co...ffixes.html.csp -
Picking a business name?
slice&dice replied to Coaster36's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
The business name (dba) will contain the hyphen, yes, absolutely. That dash is now PART of the name identity of the company. It must be included, in all instances where the business name appears, on letterheads, on invoices, business cards, signs. When registering the business with your State tax authorities, that dash will be there on the paperwork. -

It is Graphics-Insight (with a hyphen). The hyphen is critical, and you always have to include that dash or else you will be confused for GraphicsInsight, which is another domain used by another company. -
Hello to you. Consider opening an account with Grimco. As for the SC, make sure your blade is really really deep into the blade holder, and only peeks out the slightest amount. In fact, you may not even be able to see it extending beyond the end with the naked eye.

Before you do that, make sure you put on a protective welding mask!!!

Congratulations, and welcome to our little forum. Last year, I opened a small sign-making store with the MH871 (34" version of the MH721) and it didn't give me a single headache out of the box. I literally went from setting it up to cutting within minutes, using SignBlazer. The only two things that are absolutely needed to reduce any glitches: 1. GROUND the machine to the stand. 2. Keep your cut lengths under 12-feet or so (with USB) I would be curious to know what agguilar meant by saying "it's very naughty" --- what specific issues do you have, that leads you to say there are 10,000 headaches to endure? (sorry for hijacking this thread, but maybe there will be some information agguilar can share which assists all users of the MH series cutters)

Picking a business name?

We live in the year 2012, and without having a top-level domain name that potential clients can access easily, you basically don't exist. This is the age of Google, Facebook, and Yahoo! Obtain a domain name first, and then name your business after the domain that you've acquired. By the way, Hyphenated names are not the ideal way to go, but in this case, I think you would be well-served by using Graphics-Insight.com -
In general, what is it about Pixies and Fairies that gets us guys all worked up? Nevermind, I answered my own question ----

Which leads us back to the beginning of this thread, where you specify a desire to produce FULL-COLOR decals (created in Photoshop, for instance). Take a look at this other discussion -- -
Stand assembly is always a bit of a challenge, figuring out what goes where. Online guides, videos, drawings, threads like this one, all are a valuable contribution. The trick suggested for my SC assembly was to have a magnetic screwdriver, and that was absolutely right. One thing that isn't in this assembly diagram -- How to go about grounding your cutter to the stand. I used a self-tapping screw right into the frame, and believe me, having a cutter grounded is a BIG deal.

Printing is the way to go. Really. I see what you're thinking of creating (the website SlikGraphix shows examples) and you can't compete in that field with a vinyl cutter. The full-color effects and designs that your clients want are print-graphics, not cut-graphics. Trust me on this, you will be unhappy with cut-vinyl from day one, when what you actually desire is THIS -- -

Yep, we get it. Back to your OP, I don't believe that you would be satisfied with a vinyl cutting machine at all. -
These guys are signage fanatics. Just look at their visualization category on their website - http://www.sgadesigngroup.com/experience/visualization/ Massive architectural signs are a huge part of what they are all about. Now, if you can only get some of THAT work!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to view in the pictures, but in that box of miscellaneous "sample stuff" I see what appears to be Pantone color Formula reference swatches (the entire rainbow of Pantone colors on narrow cards, each identified by number) Hopefully you didn't just toss that thing away with the rest, because they aren't cheap.
