No, incorrectly limited, as it goes too far over. and -
I just use a quarter coin as a template and cut the corners with a utility knife. However, tomorrow, I'm going to invest in one of these -- http://www.joann.com...unded/prd11837/

OK, I'm curious, is the far-right pinch roller assembly on the 24" machine incorrectly limited, as it is on the 34"? -
New to cutting but old-hand at highend prepress, and most forms of output

Welcome to the forums. Honestly, you might be better off buying a bucket truck and sticking with installations. -
I always thought those things were extinct.

Congratulations! I sure hope that you ordered the Variety sample pack of Insta-Banners along with your cutter? USCutter was out of stock on those for a while, but it appears they're now again available. The sample pack contains different colors to try === this is a very cool product === http://www.uscutter....+x+25+Yard+Roll

"So, over $800 now for an original quote of $320 for some tiny decals for my truck.. hmmmmm.." The thing is, now you have equipment and materials with production capacity for thousands of $$$ worth of decals. Once your friends and relatives find out you are capable of making decals and signs, they'll give you plenty to do. For instance, cornhole games. Rear windows of their vehicles. Yard signs / job site signs. Banners. Computer lids / iPhones etc etc etc -
Greetings! Since you are a stay-at-home mom, you probably have lots of free time on your hands, so I highly encourage you to read through these Forums, and get a feel of what others have done in your same situation (there is even a section called "Pre-Sale Questions" that's pretty useful) In the meantime, download and install the FREE design program SignBlazer Elements, and start playing around with that. It will give you a good look at what is involved with vinyl cutting. I have a question of my own for you ---- do you have space available in your home for setting up a studio for decal production?

Check out ADOBE's Touch Apps (specifically Touch Ideas) http://www.adobe.com/products/touchapps.html

Were these produced for placing onto vehicles? You gotta round-off the corners. Nice work.

If you're thinking of hooking up a tablet to a vinyl cutter, that's just not happening, AFAIK.

Dammit, BannerJohn, will you please stop making signs and banners and provide us with your FULL attention, 24/7!!!!!!!!!!! Jeremy, do not (repeat, DON'T) even contemplate running the SC on USB, you'll just get frustrated with glitches (especially on longer runs) ---- Yeah, it will work, but give you headaches. Just hook that bad boy up to the serial port on your computer, and be done with it. I can't understand your question about scaling, please rephrase what you are attempting to accomplish.

Yes, your underlying layer will be the solid yellow, and you then just place the red right on top of it (centered inside of the yellow). There really is no need to have the red fit inside of a cut outline in the yellow, unless you are dealing with an offset.

Why not just rename one of them?

Hello, New Here. Need Some Advice on Vinyl Cutter
slice&dice replied to CarterMarkham's topic in Pre-sale questions
Try this -----------> download and install the SignBlazer (cracked) and play around with it. As far as using the MH units, they're a bit 'sensitive' with the USB connection and a serial cable hookup will be preferable. Noise level is the number one complaint. -
That is a highly-specialized market, and certainly there isn't a general demand for trophies by the average Joe. Around here, there is a company called EmbroidMe, that handles all sorts of advertising promotional items. They do handle awards & incentives products (plaques, trophies, gift sets).

The FIREWOOD lettering has red layered on top, as an inline. I use Signblazer Elements and there is a feature in the MANIPULATE menu that allows Inline/Outline. You might want to download and install SBE already, and familiarize yourself with it, before the cutter arrives. When you place your order for a cutter, remember to obtain all the accessories and vinyl that you'll need along with it.

Jermey, glad to see ya here! I understand that you've been looking over the forum a bit already, and let me call your attention to a thread that covers the topic of cutter width sizes -- http://forum.uscutte...ns-only-thread/ Next, can you show us what those decals will look like? And how big? The complexity of the design is a factor to consider, as well as knowing what is involved with multiple colors. Also, you'll have to take into account the physical space that operating a cutter will require, for weeding, applying transfer tape, etc. Creating a 'dedicated' work area is worth it. Then, look at the costs of things beyond the cutter itself, (including transfer tape, transfer tape holder, vinyl, vinyl racks) Here is an example of truck lettering that I did recently, each section is 10"x24" and my price to the client was $25 per section. ($12.50 sq.ft.) + installation fee. ---- Since he is my neighbor & friend, I didn't charge for the red layer ----

I was asked yesterday by a client to make him the famous #88, and found "My Puma" font (the 88 needed to be turned upside down and back-slanted, and then a drop-shadow applied, and then outlines)

Acetone on that ABS plastic? Hmmmmmmm....acetone will turn anything made out of ABS into a puddle of melted goo.
-
Have you tried GOOF-OFF? Before you use that adhesive remover, the first step would be to scrape the lettering with a flat razor blade on a handle ---
-
Okey-dokey, you're most welcome !!!

This request could be fulfilled with virtually ANYTHING, I have no idea what you're trying to achieve. flamingflag.EPS flaming flag.SBD

Although I have NO experience in the program you are using, it's worth mentioning that there are settings for overall vinyl size within my SBE cutter set-up dialogue. When I first started cutting with it from day one, the LENGTH wasn't long enough (length was only at 12" and it would stop when reaching that point). Anyway, don't forget that tomorrow brings a new dawn, and new adventures.
