    1st cuts for my truck...

Now we're cooking! Like the new cup/saucer design, it's a keeper. (maybe reduce the saucer diameter just slightly) Still think the coffee should be dark brown. (Blazer #128) Regarding my comment #3 -- I didn't mean the "message" (the words) had no impact, I meant the visual itself wasn't strong enough. Too lightweight for that large empty space on the door. By the way, any off-kilter text is easily recognizable by the human eye, even if it's very very slight. Try it sometime, you can veer off the natural horizon by just an 1/8" and the eyes will see the tilt. (My eyes, accustomed to things being straight, can notice off-line texts with as little as 1/16" difference)

    1st cuts for my truck...

OK, here's my 2-cents' worth. 1. For some reason, the side window lettering seems tilted. The reason for that is you used the edge of the top of the window as a guide, instead of using the ground plane (bubble level) 2. The cup on the back with wings seems to be a logo, but the doors have a different cup (and with beans, not liquid in it) 3. The front doors have LOTS of square footage, but you used a very thin font, and spread it out, so there is way too much negative space and the message seems feeble, without a strong impact. 4. Who uses "WWW" anymore? What is this, 1993? *wink* Also, you should add the QR code. 5. I would prefer the coffee cups to be placed on the rear quarter-panels under those windows with the multi-layer lettering, instead of being on the passenger doors (again, they should be the winged liquid & aroma version, get rid of those beans) 6. Hard to see in the pix, but are you using BROWN vinyl for the coffee in the cup? It should be. Lastly, the website itself is a MLM advertisment, and I cannot understand how you would benefit from people visiting that site. (Not to mention the Vimeo video doesn't display)

    Hello From Colorado

What happened when you ran the machine from within SignBlazer? If there is a mechanical issue, not a software one, and you're interested in putting money into a new cutter, there is a thread dedicated to that topic -- "Pre-Sale Questions" http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/forum/28-pre-sale-questions/

    MH 721 - No Rulers?

Take that tape off. The cutting strip is plastic, and needs to be exposed. The rulers should have been on the machine. Call USCUTTER support on Monday and ask them what they can do. Hopefully a set of stick-on rulers can be sent to you.

    Hello From Colorado

Howdy, pardner. Let's start by recognizing that you are working with a cutter not many people here are familiar with (this is, after all, a US CUTTER forum, and that Foison isn't part of the USCUTTER equipment line-up). Now, here's my suggestion. Download & install SignBlazer Elements The driver for your machine is there within Cutter Setup. Give that a go, and get back to us with the results.

    MH 721 - No Rulers?

Not having any rulers is a serious flaw. You cannot adjust tracking without 'em.

    Hello Everyone

Believe me, Wade, there's plenty of business for everyone, and you aren't going to be competing anyway, judging from what you've indicated about the type of specialized work that is going to be your focus. I'll be glad to show you the ropes, just come on by. (Private message sent with directions)

Ahhhhhhhh, turtles. Gotta love 'em. (especially as soup) Check out the entire TURTLES clipart catalog (pdf attached) and let me know if anything in there is what you need. I can send you the eps file(s). Be aware that these are COPYRIGHT images, and are for personal use only. TURTLES_CATALOG.pdf

    Hello! Love this forum.....

Well well well, we learn something new every day! That tip about Fireworks is outstanding, and now I have a way to create 'mock-up' proofs of signs that I am intending to install. Really cool. Karen, you made out like a bandit on this one!

    Hello! Love this forum.....

Karen, whazzup??!!!!! You asked: "Is there anyone on here who could walk me through putting samples of my vinyl decals on a stock photo?" Be more specific, and we'll give it a shot.

    Nothing but problems so far

A $60 PC will solve your issues, most likely.

    Specific Fire Department Logo Help

Where did that design originate from? Can you contact the graphic artist? Chances are good that there's a high-quality file somewhere, often in .eps format, you just have to do some detective work and find who has it.

  17. Just ask them not to, and they'll probably be OK with omitting it knowing you are a reseller.

    Beginner question about Cutters

Heck, if he doesn't need the wider 34" cutter (and for cornhole decals exclusively, I can see the 28" unit being sufficient) then the price becomes even LESS from USCutter ------ about $250. with the stand, plus $9. shipping costs for all the useful accessories and materials you can order along with the machine. Vinyl weeding tool, squeegees, app tape, vinyl starter pack.

    Beginner question about Cutters

Just out of curiosity, I jumped on ebay and checked out the SignWarehouse machines offered there -- basically, you're looking at a $380 deal that includes Vinyl Express LXi Expert software along with the 31" unit. They do offer a little bit of vinyl (5-foot lengths) and a squeegee, and some 6" wide premask (really? 6", c'mon, they are giving you 24" vinyl to cut, why not a 24" premask?) -- basically these materials are just for practice, although they claim you can "earn $750" which seems to me to be laughable. AbsoluteAirbrush can probably tell you about the specific advantages of the VE-R, but I do know USCUTTER can ship you out a new model MH 34" for under $300 (including shipping) and it will crank out cornhole decals all day long. I ran that MH unit for many months in a sign store as my primary cutter, and it was a workhorse. (and sounded like one, loud as heck!!!!!!)

    Uneven cutting

SC cutter does not play well with USB. Serial is the way to go. Also, be sure the tracking of the vinyl is accurate. You absolutely MUST verify that it is tracking properly, by using the ORIGIN setting and manually running the vinyl back and forth and visually checking it stays straight over a length of a few feet.
