You forgot to add a winky smiley https://www.websticker.com/blog/what-is-the-difference-between-a-sticker-and-a-decal/ What is the difference between a sticker and a decal? There is no absolute answer as different people will often use the terms interchangeably to describe similar products.

By the way, when smokem said "So I expect I will become somewhat of a pest in here for the near future." that is NOT a bad thing!!! We all learn a ton from newbies, with their questions and lack of "set ways" of doing things, they often provide insights and new approaches for our community to consider.

Why not? They stick. Decals can be printed, search "decals" on google and you'll see plenty of printed ones. Anyway, it's not germane to the point I was making about calling "cutting" printing.

Little problem..
slice&dice replied to moutoun's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
If the blade holder is down too far, allowing contact with the vinyl, you ARE cutting (it doesn't take much pressure for it to cut, so if you see a scratch, that's really a cut) Obviously, without being in the room with you and witnessing what is happening, nobody here is going to be a great help with troubleshooting this. Are you sure that the blade cartridge (the round one that the blade is inserted into) is being placed properly into the retaining arm on the carriage? -
You also might want to consider changing that price, $3350 sounds too high, that vehicle is probably only worth $2999. (Just kidding, I have no idea even what car you've got, nor it's market value) By the way, as a newbie, remember to avoid the terminology "printing" when referring to output from a vinyl plotter/cutter. It may seem like a nit-pick, but since at some point in the future you might actually own a large-format printer, you have to start now by differentiating between the two and not get into the bad habit of calling all your work "printing". Cutting is cutting, printing is printing. As for the idea of getting graphic files from elsewhere ---- look into the SBE Library (Draw menu) and give some of those a try. My first cut ever was a giraffe from that assortment of animals, and then I went on to penguin, horse, dog, etc... (Gave the stickers to kids)

Glad to have been of some assistance. The patch works on the UK version, you have to install both SBE programs, and then run the patch. By the way, that font is terrible to use if you are trying to sell that car. Really, with all the nice bold fonts included with SB, you chose this frilly hard-to read style? C'mon. Read my post on the top 10 of SBE http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/40058-top-10-things-for-working-within-sbe/

Probably was into huge debt, had just been arrested for drugs, and he decided to put an end to it all, ultimately. So sad. I never understood the attraction of spending money (and getting bid up, to boot) for what essentially is other's people's junk that's been discarded. Sure, they make it seem like there are 'treasures' in these units as they reveal with such suspense on TV, but I guarantee that in the real world, the vast majority of storage bins are filled with G A R B A G E.

There's an old saying, if you want to obtain a million dollars, just go to Israel with $2-million to invest and soon enough, you'll be down to one.

great find on craigs list Dallas/Fort worth

What is stopping you from jumping on it? Also, one has to wonder why the current owner is abandoning such a set-up, if it's making good money for them. craigslist is a hodgepodge of scammers, broken & stolen equipment, dreamers, flakes. For $949 you can start a t-shirt operation directly with new equipment from USCUTTER http://www.uscutter.com/USCutter-Value-T-Shirt-Starter-Package -
Damn, that reminds me, I have to cut the lawn this weekend.

"Better" is really subjective, and I don't know what your focus is, business-wise. Our Signage industry is all over the map these days. Some people do Architectural signs, some are into lighted channel letters & neon, some print direct to substrate with flatbeds, some print onto vinyl, some cut vinyl (that's me), and some are content-creators for those massive LCD/LED billboards. Beyond signs, many shops handle t-shirts and advertising promotionals, and engraved signs. This is a multi-billion-dollar environment that requires sign-store owners to try and keep up with the latest and greatest so as not to be left in the dust. Look at Frank Fellers --- he started in a garage with a vinyl cutting machine, same as you and I. Today, he is the head of a massive enterprise that supplies pretty much every imaginable product for signs, wraps, and printed graphics.

I have been to the big Sign Show in Atlantic City, and although it's amazing to see what's possible in the sign business and drool at the huge printer machines, the best thing about that show was the chance to meet the people I already do business with (GRIMCO, FELLERS, etc.) The NBM Philadelphia venue in September seems worthwhile to go to. If I get just a single idea or trick or gadget that makes my business more profitable, it's win-win.

On Patriot's Day in Boston, explosions shattered the afternoon's festivities, as tens of thousands of participants were concluding the Marathon. My heart goes out to those people right there as the bombs went off, and to the rest of the citizens in Boston who were traumatized today. Alisdair Conn, chief of emergency services at Massachusetts General Hospital, said: "This is something I've never seen in my 25 years here ... this amount of carnage in the civilian population. This is what we expect from a war battlefield." -- The President of the United States, in his address to the nation earlier today, said that Boston "is a tough and resilient town," adding that Americans will stand by Bostonians "every single step of the way."

I hate to ask this, but WHY Pittsburgh? Of all places.

I'll sometimes run into that, "Cutter Not Found" message, but I simply unplug the USB, while the SignBlazer cutter setup window is open. Then, I'll close the window, reopen it, and see that the USB connection is gone. Once more, I plug in the USB, and it reappears on the list of com ports. Select it. Say OK. Cut.

Finally pressed the B-52 bomber pinup girl

N-P. At first I thought you transposed the numbers 5-2 and meant to type 2-5 (B25) but with those four engines, I realized the planes were not the Mitchells. Of course, who the hell is looking at the planes, when that beauty is front and center? !!!! -

Why not get your 90-year-old grandmother to learn Signblazer? We're not "professionals" (well, I'm not) --- we are just jokers who claim to know what we're doing!!!!!

Problem after vectorizing image, any help appreciated guys
slice&dice replied to Bertie's topic in SignBlazer
You seem to have a double object -- click on it, hit delete and see if one of the objects vanishes, leaving the other. (make sure you 'ungroup' first) -
No need to search -- the link is here (install v6 first, then the UK, and run the patch, eliminating start-up nag screens) http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip (disable your anti-virus because it feels that patch is an issue -- it isn't) I use that program exclusively, in a full-service sign making shop. It's not a complicated application to utilize, and you won't be encountering "mistakes" -- this is a fairly straightforward process to master.

Howdy. What cutting software are you coupling to the x6?

Not the most sophisticated work I've done, but I've finally found a use for the bubblegum pink vinyl that came as part of my assortment roll order from USCUTTER back when I purchased the machine. That roll has been sitting unused in a corner, and then this farmer came in yesterday who needed the banner, and the pink pigs just seemed appropriate. (Those porkers are included in the Animals selection of SignBlazerElements -- Draw Library).

Simple to do --- just take the entire cut vinyl sheet and before you weed, app tape it. Then pull the backing off, and weed it in reverse with the app tape holding the small cuts in place. Works terrific.
